Such a fanstastic commentary on horror movies in general. We are the old gods, demanding sacrifice. Kill the naked woman! Kill the young for having sex! Punish the virginal maiden! And as the movie suggests, perhaps it's time to put these tropes to bed, and make some new horror that actually has something to say. And of course, the cast in this is spectacular. Fran Kranz steals most of the show, although Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford put up a good fight. I'm really surprised Kristen Connolly didn't become a bigger star after this--actually, I'm not all that surprised, just a little disappointed. She's phenomenal in this.

It's when men look skinny or "average" when they're fully clothed, but they're actually the complete opposite. Sometimes their true size doesn't even show until they do a full flex. 2023-11-28 17:14:13 +0000 UTCFun fact: As written, Fran Kranz (who plays Marty/The Fool) was also supposed to swim in the lake with the others. However, on set when Fran Kranz took off his shirt, the producers were surprised to find that he was absolutely jacked underneath. Much more so than Chris Hemsworth (at the time, he went loco for Thor obviously), which really didn't serve the story of the movie. So they had Fran Kranz keep his shirt on, because standing side by side, he was making Chris Hemsworth look bad... π
