Hey folks! Thank you for another amazing month of reactions! This month's newsletter will be shorter this time around as October as a whole was already discussed in my most recent Announcement post. Please read this if you haven't yet.

Before we dive in, I want to say a big welcome in to all the new patrons that joined during September and so far this month! Keepin' Up With KL is my monthly newsletter that I write at the start of every month. This is where I share a ton of information and insight and provide updates for what's to come ahead. I always want to be as open and transparent as possible and many folks here find value in these newsletters and being involved in the behind-the-scenes of the channel. It also provides some different content here to sprinkle in between everything else and I really enjoy writing these and sharing. Thank you so much for being here!

I am really pleased with how September went with the channel! Batman Returns was actually blocked for most of the month, but I was able to successfully win a copyright appeal with Warner Bros so I could get the block removed and monetization re-instated. This was the first time I had ever submitted an appeal. I've always been scared to, because if it's declined by the studio you will get a copyright strike on the channel (and after three strikes, your channel is removed completely). But I spent time writing up my nice ask and outlined all my reasons for why my videos are Fair Use and voila! I also decided to do this with Constantine and Edge of Tomorrow too. EOT was actually never blocked on the channel, but Warner Bros has been earning the revenue on it for almost a year now and I finally decided to see if I could have it reverted back to going to me instead and it worked. If you haven't seen these reactions yet, definitely check them out.

Dune was the third most viewed video in September because I uploaded it on August 30. If we take it out, then Episodes 1-3 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be in the #3 spot.

My reaction to Revenge of the Sith breezed past 475,000 views in September, which is kinda nuts. I'm coming up to 150 reactions on the channel and it's so fun to see the oldest ones still get decent views every month!

Besides what was said in the earlier announcement...

This month you can get hyped for the full-length and edited reaction to Lethal Weapon 2! Now that OGB Reacts has returned from her few months of break with her reaction channel, we're firing up our Lethal Weapon journey again and we're both really excited about it. She will be sending me the full-length watchalong pretty soon so that I can share it here for you all and then the edit will be completed by her and put on her channel (I will also share it here on Patreon though). Make sure to go subscribe to her if you haven't already! We want to watch and record Lethal Weapon 3 and 4 before the end of the year, so we've kind of loosely planned for LW3 next month (my channel) and LW4 in December (her channel).

You're a paid member, but can't leave comments...

Patreon Shop

I am still plugging away at getting my watchalong reactions up to the Shop for non-patrons to purchase. Remember that you are able to download the MP4s that are part of your membership (if you want them) by clicking the "Purchases" link in the Patreon Menu.

I was originally going to skip uploading the individual watchalongs for a film series and just have them in a bundle only, but I've decided to give people both options in the event they only want to watch one movie that is within a bundle.

Patreon Lounge: this is a chat room feature available through the Patreon mobile app. I use this to provide quick updates and have quick chats with y'all. Make sure to download the Patreon mobile app if you want to join us with this! It's a nice alternative to Discord for folks who don't want to use Discord.
Early Insiders Tier: If you are currently in this tier and you process a cancellation of your membership, your spot does become available to someone else immediately. This means that you might not be able to re-join this tier later if you want to.
Annual Memberships: If you think you're gonna hang around here for a long time and you want to save some money, you can switch from monthly to annual at any time and save 10% on your membership for the year! You can do this in your Membership settings. This also qualifies you immediately for Member of the Month if you've been here less than 6 months.
Discord Server: I always like to remind you about my server, where you can chat with myself and others in the community a bit better in real-time on a daily basis and it's a great way to connect. Right now I am hosting regular watch parties for the TV show, Mr. Robot. We just finished Season 1 this past weekend and we will be picking up Season 2 on October 28. To join, sync your Discord account in your Patreon settings and you'll be automatically put into the server.

While I deal with a big heavy and life-changing thing this month and have no certainty on when videos may be released, I feel like this is a good opportunity for you to check out some reactions of mine that you haven't watched yet! I want to shout out the handful of patrons who have recently been going back and watching a lot of my older reactions. I see the notifications of your likes and comments on those older posts, so a huge thanks for that! 💚 It's pretty cool to me that I can spend the time recording and editing something and it will still get some eyes on it all this time later.

I usually ask what your favourite reaction of mine in the past month was, but this time I want to know what is your favourite reaction of mine out of EVERYTHING? Is there a particular one that stands out?
I have friends who are Christmas shopping already. So are you a fall Christmas shopper, do you start in November, do you start in December, or do you do all your Christmas shopping in the week before Christmas?

Thanks for being such a great group of people, I really appreciate it! Truth be told, I'm already looking forward for this month to be over, but at the same time I am trying to enjoy every minute as best as I can and live slowly through it. Because I already know that next month I'm gonna wish I could re-live through the moments from this month.

So I'll extend that reminder to you all... let yourself live and exist without rush or pressure through moments of happiness, sadness, grief, and more. ❤️
