I wanteds to do a watch along.... but I didnt know they took it off disney plus... and I dont have netflix... bugga :(

Chris Elkins

I'm so sorry Patreon didn't let you know! Is there anything that I can do with that, like send in a support ticket? Do you have email notifications turned on but you didn't get one? Yeah the movie itself isn't the *best*, I think this movie is def a fanservice/nostalgia creation more than anything. But it works for that a LOT haha. Thanks for watching with me!

kaiielle

OMG I forgot about that!!! HAHAHAH So good

kaiielle

So much to reply here, first thank you for sharing all this! I honestly understand and appreciate your criticisms with this 100% and in a way I kind of feel it too. I've kinda opted to just enjoy and love the nostalgia/fan service with this movie. But from a critical point of view, the issues you have are def there. Thank you for watching with me, I appreciate it and so happy you enjoyed it.

kaiielle

Oh I bet!! Kind of wish I could go back in time and experience it for myself except I'd have to go back in time and watch all the MCU up to that point too hahhaa

kaiielle

That's so awesome, thank you for sharing your experience!

kaiielle

Oh cool! Willem is a badass.

kaiielle

I refuse to watch reaction compilations like this, but I will go watch the trailer on my own time and check out some reactions to it on my favourite channels. Cheers and thank you!

kaiielle

Oh heck, thanks for sharing this! I'll notice in editing I'm sure, that he looks the exact same as he did in Spider-Man 3. In the moment though, I couldn't quite tell haha legit just thought he didn't age.

kaiielle

Thanks for letting me know! This is exactly why I don't watch movie trailers LOL.

kaiielle

Thanks for sharing! I love that so much. This movie is definitely a trip down nostalgia lane and they pulled it off well.

kaiielle

The nostalgia is HUGE with this one, for sure! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

kaiielle

That's totally fair.

kaiielle

That's a long watchalong day! I hope you had a good time.

kaiielle

Oh wow, that's amazing! That sounds like the best time.

kaiielle

I'm so glad you got to see it unspoiled!

kaiielle

So glad patreon finally let me know you posted this! Glad you enjoyed. It's a beautiful love letter to Spiderman, is the movie itself perfect? No, not really, and some character motivation is really weird in the beginning. You can tell this movie went through a lot of rewrites lol. But i still love it, so fun Also, fun fact, you said how the actor for Sandman looked so similar to how he looked in Spiderman 3, that's because they actually used the exact same footage from back then for that scene, i think all of the footage of Sandman in human form is actually just old footage

“I have been falling for 30 minutes!”-Loki Dr. Strange traps Peter in an “infinite falling” loop. Peter traps Dr. Strange. “I’ve been dangling over the Grand Canyon for 12 hours!” -Dr. Strange Karma achieved. 😆😆😆 💚🗡️🐍🐊🗡️💚

So happy you enjoyed this one! Also that Matt’s cameo wasn’t spoiled for you. It’s funny that you knew the Tobey/Andrew spoiler, but not the villains, since they were all announced and Tobey/Andrew were the big secret. Tobey definitely got the loudest applause and roar in our theater, it was a great experience for sure. Spider-Man has never been a character I gravitated towards. I keep up with the Spider-Man movies and shows, because Marvel, and they are fun, just not in my personal top tier. In all honesty, I want to love this film, but I just can’t. Being a superhero fan, I am pretty good at suspending my disbelief and just going with it. This film was just a little too plot driven and I found myself getting distracted and taken out of the moment by things that wouldn’t normally distract me. The flow was just off for me, and I agree the movie took a little too long to get us there, so to speak. Some of the reasoning and logic of the characters seemed off to me. I felt like I needed more explanation in a movie that was already 2 1/2 hours long. I really enjoyed the multiverse aspect, I just didn’t fully enjoy how they got us there. I feel that some of the “lessons” Tom’s Peter learned in this, he had already learned in his time in the MCU. I didn’t feel killing Aunt May was necessary. I had always seen Tony as his “Uncle Ben” stand in, so having him lose May also, just seemed redundant to me. I understand why they made that choice, but it didn’t resonate with me in any emotional way. It just felt like a forced way to get the famous responsibility line in there. Which again, is something Tom’s Peter already knew. Peter told Tony when they first met in Civil War, “When you can do things that I can do, but you don’t…And then the bad things happen, they happen because of you.” He didn’t word it as eloquently as “With great power…” but my interpretation is that the meaning is the same. I always liked the way the MCU’s Spider-Man was different, in that he was part of a team, he had learned the sacrifice’s a hero has to make. I liked that we didn’t get the standard origin. This movie seemed to literally erase all that, just to make him more like all the other Spider-People and give him a more traditional origin. I have a few other smaller issues with this film, but I usually do my best to focus on the positive. So, I will give this movie the credit it deserves. The performances and chemistry of all the actors was outstanding. You could tell they were having a great time. Tobey, Andrew, & Tom are all great in those heavy moments. I really enjoyed seeing all 3 of them together and the climax was awesome! Having the final fight on “Captain America’s shield” was a nice touch, since Tom’s introduction in the MCU happened in Civil War. A nice bookend to this volume of the character’s story. Like you mentioned, all the villains fell right back into their characters without missing a beat. Dafoe’s performance was a standout for sure. Tom Holland really does grief and anger well, he has an awesome crying face. Awesome visuals, I enjoyed the humor more than I usually do in the MCU Spider-Man films. I loved the mid-credits scene, it was perfect & hilarious. I love how the bartender wasn’t even phased that Eddie just vanished into thin air. “And there he goes, without paying the bill, no tips…” That’s life in the MCU, people be vanishing 🤷‍♀️😆 Also, the way he told Eddie that Thanos made his family disappear for five years. Like, don’t try to tell me about aliens, I know about aliens. In this universe Earth gets invaded by aliens every couple of years! For me, this is one that I enjoy watching clips of or edited reactions. In fact, I think this is the first time I have sat down and watched the entire movie since seeing it in theaters. Thanks for giving me a reason to do a rewatch, it was a blast seeing your reactions!

CheshireKat528

In the theater, this was the first movie I had seen in any theater since the pandemic had started. It was the best experience since End Game. Truly emotional for Spidey fans there with me and everywhere. We all had thought the MCU skipped over Tom's origin story but this was his Spidey origin story.

JiminyMac

At the theater, this was such a wild ride. I think when May died, people were audibly crying and calling out. I have been avoiding trailers and social media but someone at work blurted out Andrew was in it. The moment Andrew took of his mask, the crowd exploded and everyone applauded for Toby. It was still fun to see they introduced. I definitely clocked the Gwen moment as did a few others that cheered in the theater. So far, it's been one of the best movie-going experiences of my life just below Endgame and Infinity War. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for another great video.

Julian Calzada

love this movie so good seeing Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin and it's crazy that he did most of his own stunts

Ronix

Yeah the trailer for this one was pretty epic…one of the most viewed and definitely teased all the villains and Spider-Men: https://youtu.be/pVXhg-7u5cQ?si=TTyEwzjnkhcUXFgz

HugoBoss435

For me personally, this is where my Marvel journey ended, with the exception of Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Methampheminist

Watched this opening night and yes my whole theatre was jam packed and hyped for it. There were rumours for months about those two appearing, with supposed leaked photos of them on set but we've always had fake fan leaks about everything so the doubt was definitely real. But yeah when Daredevil, Andrew and Tobey appeared the whole place erupted, especially for Tobey! Honestly, for most of the movie everyone was hyped and yelling which was a great experience but definitely made it hard to hear the film 💀

Methampheminist

Such a fun reaction! You mentioning that the actor for Sandman looks exactly the same as he did in 2007 gave me a chuckle since that was reused footage from the original movie. The actors for Sandman and the Lizard couldn't be in the movie bc of scheduling conflicts, but still lent their voices.

Darren P

Yea this is pretty easily my favorite Spider-Man film for how great it is on its own while also being a loving tribute to the past films. If you were curious, the villains were all featured in the trailers leading up to the movie, while Tobey and Andrew’s Spider-Men were not. This led to a lot of speculation on whether they’d be in it or not so any theater reactions you hear will be especially hyped when they show up.

ZachBrickowski

Because of the social media and circle of friends, the Toby and Andrew inclusion were somewhat spoiled for me. The surprise was seeing how integral they were to the story. But, I did see it with a bunch of family, both of my sisters and both of my brother in laws have seen all the MCU and all the other spiderman movies, but they don't follow all of the speculation and film rumors. When the villains came on screen one at a time they were so surprised. They flipped out with they saw Andrew, but they practically jumped out of their seat when Toby showed up, because that is the spiderman we all grew up with. It was a great theater experience.

DarthChef

I love this movie. I grew up watching Toby play Spiderman and the nostalgia hit so hard in the theater I was in. To see three Spiderman and their villains on screen actually happening without being a complete mess was so satisfying.

Christopher simeon

I'll have to wait for the edit version until Disney+ can stream it. Netflix, Sony and Apple will never get my money haha

Steve Graham

I just thought I finished my long day of catching up on your marvel stuff (2x Daredevil, Shang-Chi and Eternals watchalongs today) and now this :D I couldn't be happier.

Pan

Let's go!

JESSEMLR1

You're spoiling me today...

Steve Mercier

My family has a Christmas Eve tradition of going to an arcade, eating pizza, & catching a big movie release together. As a special treat I splurged that Christmas and rented out an entire theater. We had a private screening of this movie and none of us had been spoiled. Best experience in a movie theater ever. Since the internet spoiled something about it very quickly for the whole world, I’m not surprised you knew stuff. Heck, your prep viewing of the Amazing Spider-Man duo is a big hint to all of us…but yes, I am sure there were plenty of genuine surprises for you. I always enjoy your reactions and especially your post viewing thoughts and reviews but I don’t necessarily want to see you cry. But ready to dive in and see what happens…

Bryan Dempsey

Oh snap!!! Just got done with your Daredevil reactions…just in time!!! 😉 Sucks that you already knew things going in, but hard to avoid I guess. I’m apparently one of the few folks who managed to go 100% unspoiled beforehand. 😁
