Hello everyone! Ahh, it was so lovely to kick back to another Robin Williams movie that I hadn't seen before, what a legend. Thanks so much for watching and I'm looking forward to your comments! [Direct link here.]

I loved Robin Williams' acceptance speech for his Oscar in this role because he was hilarious vs. his role in the film which was much more serious.

I believe he also improved the line about his wife farting and waking herself up

Robin was well known for improv, obviously. I think I remember hearing that the only bit he improvised here was that line at the end, "SOB stole my line."
What's interesting in regards to the what path should we take in life. Well it's actually all relative, more so in Will's case. What tips the balance into feeling considerably more conflicted than one might in most cases. Is the fact that there are so few people in the world like him. Maths unlocks so much of our understanding of the world.
Some of the biggest achievers spend a lifes work trying to decipher what might appear to come to him as naturally as sweaping a floor or laying brick.
Obviously it's not a question of one or the other. But that sacrificing one for the other isn't necessarily the answer either.
If only Will wasn't so unique, I'd not be forced to ask myself the philosophical question. What might Will owe humanity, when so few people could hypothetically be there to fill the shoes.
But as he's obviously not really ready, willing or able to step into them at this point in time. Pushing him too hard now, might mean he never will be. That certainly doesn't mean he should take that path either.
Human connection cannot be undervalued, but nor is the principle that it's lasting impression on the world and those that follow, could be valued as significant only to those whom were involved directly. The long lasting footprint of a hypothetical understanding, that too few of us are capable of attaining. Could be a legacy that has a greater meaning when measured against all of human civilisation. Compared to processes in the brain that are pretty unremarkable.
That's a cold analysis, but only derives from that singular thought. Of what if nature never produces another Will.

Fun face: not only did Matt Damon and Ben Affleck write the movie, they won Academy Awards for best original screenplay.

This is one of my top five favorite films of all time. It's so moving and beautiful and Robin Williams gave one hell of a performance. Looking forward to seeing the full reaction this evening π₯Ίππ€©
