The Acolyte: Lost/Found [1x01] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Hello there! This reaction is available as part of my "Try Before You Buy" reaction videos here on Patreon. For the TV series that I react to at the Insiders tiers, I give the first episode out for free so you can experience it with me and see if you're up for joining us to continue! You must have your own copy of the episodes to watchalong as I do blur the episodes and have the audio muted. I leave a few seconds of it up at the start of each episode for syncing purposes. I am not allowed to distribute the entire episodes in my videos as this is illegal. Thank you for watching along with me!

Yeah, you're not wrong. He's still giving me Syril Karn vibes from Andor. 😂

Ahh okay, that makes sense!

No, it's not that long ago! We're definitely in the "end times" of the High Republic era and that was the intention. I think this series, when it's done, is really going to help us understand why the Jedi are the way they are in the prequels, especially Yoda. I think the Jedi lied/kept secret everything that will happen in this show, because I forgot that Ki-Adi-Mundi said "The Sith have been extinct for a millenium" (thank you to other people for remembering this!) and Master Torbin locked himself away in a Barash Vow for years and then willingly took his own life instead of being with the Jedi. Whatever happened, it seems like it traumatized him. I am anticipating that we get some flashback scenes (or even a whole episode) where we can see Indara and Torbin with Kelnacca and Sol and come to an understanding of wtf went down. And YES, a Yoda appearance would be fantastic. But this story does have the high likelihood of making us see Yoda in a different way than we have before because this show is canon and how Yoda is involved with these 4 Jedi Masters and the situation could be interesting.

Just finished my first watch w/reaction. I haven’t read any of the High Republic myself, so I really surprised at the timeline. 100 years before the rise of the empire isn’t that long ago. Anakin joined the order at age 9 and 13 years later the Empire rose in Revenge of the Sith, so this is only 87 years before Phantom Menace. Yoda self proclaimed himself as 900 in Return of the Jedi, so if we see the council, Yoda should be there. Basically Yoda should be around somewhere and I would love to see Yoda again. And younger than we’ve ever seen him. Is Dooku a Youngling somewhere around here too? I’m intrigued and will watch through the end, but I really thought we’d be a little further back in the timeline because I thought we were introducing the Sith, who in pre-Disney Star Wars were around for 5,000 years before the movie series. I just need to set aside what I think I know and enjoy the ride. But I still want to see Yoda!

Knowing that we're in the tail end of the High Republic era, Yord is very much feeling like the type of Jedi that we see in the prequels. 😂 Lightsaber out without hesitation, wanting to follow the rules, etc. While everyone else feels like they are acting how the Jedi have been for the whole era (and I'm definitely more interested in that). It's cool seeing the contrast. It makes me curious about Yord's character development for the rest of the season.

Loved this first episode! Sol is really cool and so are Jecki and Yord, and so is Osha of course. Yord is a bit strict but I can't *really* blame him for strictly sticking to what I'd guess he's supposed to be doing? I'll also admit that I find him a little bit funny. I loved the setup and I'm curious to see where this goes.

Understandably here, though, Yord thinks she's an assassin that killed a Jedi master. Him taking a hard stance makes sense.

From what I heard, Venesstra is the same species as Barriss. She's a known character in books about the High Republic but from an earlier period when she was much younger.

Ahh great comparison there!

To me, Yord feels very "Mace" in the way he feels like he HAS to follow rules. Especially with how Mace was in Tales. Im loving the looks of all these aliens! Excited to see all the High Republic technology like Pip or maybe a Droid like Zee from Survivor. 100 years in the grand scheme of the universe isn't too far off so maybe we get to see the grandfather of like the Naboo Star Fighter or something🤔 Anyways interest is peaked so this should be fun!😊

Big same!

Gotta say, equally surprised, impressed, and disappointed at Carrie-Ann Moss's short role after all the hype lol Like... I have to believe there's something more in store.
