True Lies (1994) ✦ Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

what a good movie one of my favorites I always watch it if I catch it on TV also one of my favorite Jamie Lee Curtis movie(and no I will not go into detail why that's so 🤣)

Great reaction 😀😀😀like most guys loved iconic Jamie Lee dance scene. She choose the music for that dance scene. James Cameron came up with the idea of letting go of the bed post😂😂😂😂😂😂

Great reaction. I can’t believe this is 30 years old. Your timing to see this was perfect. James Cameron only approved this for HD release for the first time this year. This really is a 90’s summer popcorn flick. The scene where Jamie Lee Curtis was rescued out of the limo. No green screen, no stunt woman, she was actually hanging off the side of a flying helicopter. That downward shot of her screaming is real. Glad I had a chance to rewatch along side your reaction with my new blu ray purchase.

James Cameron was going through a pretty serious mid-life crisis when he made this movie. That includes his divorce to Kathryn Bigelow. So if it seems like he was working through some stuff he most definitely was. At least he turned out a solid movie out of the whole ordeal haha.

So, yeah...James Cameron, one of the gods of American action cinema, and Arnold, the quintessential 80s and 90s action dynamo...and this movie is just fun. It's waaaaayyyy over the top, but then so many of the 80s and 90s action movies were--this one just makes it part of the joke. Jamie Lee Curtis kills it. Tom Arnold is actually funny (he gets at least one movie). You can tell Bill Paxton had a ball playing a sleazy-ass piece of shit. I don't know that I need it to be anything other than what it is. I will say, that I don't typically watch this one just on my own. I find I watch it now and again when it pops up on a reaction channel; but, not really for my own enjoyment. Which isn't to say that I don't enjoy it--just that I find it more entertaining when viewing it vicariously through someone else who is seeing it for the first time.

One of my all time favorite movies. I can watch this anytime lol

I've seen the following rough description of True Lies somewhere: True Lies can't decide whether it wants to be an action film or a comedy, so just does both pretty well instead - which feels pretty accurate It's always a fun watch, with lots of great moments - too many to chose a favourite, but I do particularly like Arnie 'telling off' the horse for refusing to jump!
