Hey! The episode title is the name of the show... 😏 PHEW! What an end. I can't wait to read all your comments and talk about this with you all. [Direct link here.]
It's gonna be a bit before we get to Season 2, but not terribly long. Agents of SHIELD Season 2 will come first and then Jessica Jones Season 1, before we hop back into Daredevil. To those of you along for the ride with all of this, thank you! To those of you just interested in Daredevil, we'll see you back here in a few months and thank you for joining for this! Stay as a free member here on Patreon to be notified of what I'm watching, or you can always tune into kaiielle.com to see where I'm at in the watch order too.
Thank you, thank you! This has been so fun.

what a great season really glad you loved it. Vincent D'onofrio was absolutely perfect in this role I enjoyed every scene he was in especially during his Samaritan speech. Matt suit did not disappoint it was so good to finally see him in it also I do like in some shots Matt's hair looks more red than it actually is. Now it's on to season 2 of AoS which I am excited to go back through that with you

As far as the series go I agree I can see liking it better than AoS to begin with its more compact its more complex dark and compact as in you get to focus on a few characters at once.
I honestly will miss Wesley he was almost the one thing keeping Fisk together along with Vanessa he was one of my favorite characters once I saw more of him

I wanna make 2 comments, first in response to you mentioning if you talked/reacted enough during the episodes in order to edit for you tube . What makes you so great during this watch along was seeing you out the corner of my eyes smiling at certain scenes, gasping, having that holy shit look on your face and that giddy as a schoolgirl look at certain times.
Its the great facial expressions along with the commentary and the great editing that drew me to your work. Seeing you smile as I watch made me smile, keep up the great work :)

I'm so glad what they did with this series and the character. My first taste of Daredevil was the Ben Affleck movie which was absolutely awful. They really turned it around and having it play out like a crime drama was definitely the way to go. There was so much depth to every character in this series. Fisk and Vanessa were amazing. I hate to see Wesley go. I really liked him. I am curious how Karen is going to develop. I really wanted her and Foggy to get together.

That graphic novel I mentioned before that I bought for my sister a long time ago called "Daredevil: Born Again" had that scenario you said you wanted to see with Fisk finding out who Daredevil was and that's just the beginning of what made it REALLY good because he RUINED Matt. Destroyed his reputation which destroyed his law practice. I believe he got Matt convicted of rape or something like that. Even Foggy didn't believe him. So, Fisk took his friends, practice and everything from Matt, making him homeless. It's why Fisk has the quote on the back of the graphic novel that said something like, "I alone have shown him that a man with nothing to lose...is a man without fear." So good.

Oh my god, I forgot to mention Fisk. Getting D'Onofrio to play Fisk was just huge. No pun intended. It was great.

Right off the bat, just wanna say how excited I am to hear you so excited about The Punisher.
So on to Daredevil.
Oh yeah, I love this show. And also AoS. I actually watched that during broadcast. Kept up weekly, loved the whole way it ties in with in-theatre movies sometimes. And then we got more seasons, and more seasons. AoS has a special place in my heart. DD got me right off the bat, too. Just the inverse of a comic book show. How real it "could" be. Simple suit (for almost all of the season), simple effects, very complex characters and situations and dialogue. Both of these are amazing for different reasons, and one reason they both share is that they become what they are and not a copy of something else. They give you a world to live in, and that is always an outstanding thing to find.
P.S. (as in Possible Spoilers, but only for S1 of each show...)
The moment I knew AoS was something I'd keep watching was in 1x6 when Jemma jumped off the Bus.
The moment I knew DD was something I'd keep watching was in 1x2 with that "extended single shot" of the hallway when Matt saves that boy.

S1 down! It's a bit more unusual amongst superhero shows that we don't see the suit until the last episode (really the last third of the episode), but it works - the entire season is effectively an origin story for Daredevil, so having the reveal so late feels earned (yes, Matt has his abilities from the get go, but he's not *Daredevil* until the end). Having Matt echo Fisk's "Take your shot" is immensely satisfying, but even with the suit Fisk is still a formidable physical opponent twice Matt's size - yes the suit gives him a fighting chance, but as has been noted before Matt is still just a guy, so it's good that the fight is still portrayed as a fight.
I'm rather cautious about the new Daredevil show - I've not been a huge fan of the majority of Marvel Studios' TV series (with at least some of them making me question if anyone at Marvel Studios actually knows how to make a TV series), and AFAIK none of the people responsible for making this show *so good* have been involved in it.
Looking forward to AoS S2!

Oh my gosh. What a blast rewatching this show. I’ve been a Patron for a while but never took the plunge to watch the tv shows here, but after this fun ride with rewatching Daredevil, I may sift through the other options here. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s a very different experience than other Marvel properties. I’m looking forward to Jessica Jones when that comes around too. The pre-Disney+ Marvel shows really do stand up on their own so well. While I can appreciate the interconnected universe it’s nice to let characters breathe. In my humble opinion Wilson Fisk stands apart as the only villain with a comprehensive back story. His childhood and what formed his character. BTW, Melvin doesn’t know Matt is blind. He made a mask with eyes, but at least deferred to no eye holes, red lenses. Maybe because Matt’s face was so cover ed up when they first met. I loved your reaction to learning Melvin has an apparent intellectual disability. They did a great job there, not everyone is how they appear. I also personally think you could predict upcoming lines so well because the dialogue was so genuine. They didn’t seem like they were reading lines, they were talking like real people. I LOVED it when you said you weren’t sure about Marcy joining “us”. Need a new sign for season Two: Nelson, Murdock, & Kaiielle. The more the show went on, the more you just fall into that world. Fantastic. I’m also glad they didn’t do a massive cliffhanger season finale. So many shows do that. The rationale is have a cliffhanger to bring the audience back next season, without it they won’t. How about write compelling characters and situations, that will bring the audience back too. The show nailed it at every level. Thanks for a great journey.

I'm glad to see you had such a great time with this! I've enjoyed revisiting this along with you, the acting is stellar. 🤩
I'm the opposite of you, in that this show is a bit less my vibe than the usual MCU fair, but variety is the spice of life. 👍
I'm really excited for AoS S02 next week!

Interesting show. I'm glad I've watched it now.
Fisk is a really interesting bad guy.

What's really heartbreaking about Ben's death is his poor wife having to face the illness all alone. She has money sure but... not having her husband as her lifeline anymore is so sad.
-
Have you played the Insomniac Spider-Man games? Might be cool to do at least the first one now that you've seen Wilson Fisk in both animation and live-action. Why? Oh, no reason.... *whistles innocently*
-
Nothing says I'm guilty like sweating profusely in winter
-
Tasing Fisk is like shooting a bear with a potato gun. Just gonna piss him off.
-
That Good Samaritan speech gives me chills EVERY TIME.
-
In a lot of respects, Fisk is a great man. In other respects, he's still just an angry kid fighting his father.
-
Fisk having Joker energy right there at the end of the fight
Fisk: "You think any of this will really make a difference?"
Joker: "You didn't think I'd risk the battle for Gotham's soul in a fist fight with you, did you?"
-
Fully expected Fisk to have an Al Capone cell/suite
-
Speaking of Jessica Jones, have you seen Orphan Black? Krysten Ritter has her own spin-off called Echoes coming out this June! I loved the main series so I'm excited for the spin-off.

Like I said before Daredevil and AOS are top of the list of MCU shows.
Don't feel bad about saying you like it more then AOS or Carter.
It has many advantages of from being on Netflix rather then broadcast TV.
Daredevil is focused on mature audiences as are the other Netflix shows while AOS is more general audiences.
I love daredevil but the focus is mostly on Matt and His villain characters arc while AOS will expand on some MCU details as a whole while also juggling different characters. The show also changes so much.
You watched no way home recently so I wanted to give you info on that.
Daredevil and AOS were created to be apart of the MCU but over time the movies ignored them so people stopped believing they mattered. But the fact that Matt showed up suddenly was huge as the show had been cancelled for years.
Now we are getting a new show. Filming just ended.
