I'm officially tech'd out for the next couple years bahahaah. 🤣 Here's my new PC and setup! Super pleased. Everything is running smooth and fast. I also got my internet uploading speeds fixed, finally. So I'm back to 160mpbs instead of 8-20. 😀 All of this together will help so much with reactions. Thanks for your patience over the past many days as I've been doing all this.
For those who missed my message in the Community Chat, I am copyright checking the Kung Fu Panda and Ratatouille edits, while finishing/checking the last Hawkeye edit in between. Those are priority #1 for me because of my time off next week. I want to make sure public videos are good to go. Then I will start sharing watchalongs here!
I also want to post a movie poll for you to vote on. Does anyone have any fun poll ideas?

I was also thinking of the person who said "Close, But No Cigar." Alternate idea for that name would be a poll of stuff that came in second place on past polls. Would also welcome a poll of a few movies you don't think are primed to win polls but you want to watch, or a pre-1970s poll to help those films that struggle with comparative obscurity or recency bias.

Office ergonomics always said your eyes line up with top of the monitor, your monitor is an arm length away from you, and so you create like a "box" with your arms at 90° angle and back straight. I try my best to follow this when I'm editing anyway. Just watching something, I definitely slouch a bit and sit further away from the monitor.

2024-04-25 03:16:21 +0000 UTCOut of curiosity, I just checked where my eye level is whether I'm sitting or standing and it lines up just below the top of this new monitor. The top of my other monitor was probably at my lower lip in comparison. Probably why this feels so much better already!

2024-04-25 03:08:58 +0000 UTCMy old monitor stand had my monitor quite low. You can tell if you watch any of my reactions. Especially when I looked down at subtitles. This height works really well for me so far and if I feel after some time that it's too high, I can mount it. Also, your eyes should be at the level of the *top* of the monitor, not the middle. At least that is what my annual health and safety course taught me over a whole decade working in corporate. 😂 Though that was never quite right for me anyway.

You could do a high school poll (10 Things I Hate About You, Eighth Grade, Election, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Heathers), or a director-specific poll (I'd love a Wes Anderson poll: Bottle Rocket, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore). Am I leaving obvious stuff off these lists so only a movie I want to watch will win? Well, uh, Another idea would be a "second chance" poll, with a selection of movies by filmmakers or actors you haven't liked in the past (I'm still hoping for Jackie Brown sometime soon). Another route to that could be adaptations of books, although I suppose that depends on the angle from which that would be appealing to you: read the book, haven't read the book, want to read the book, or your investment in the book isn't important at all. Also, there's Pride Month coming up but that's not for a couple of months. I also had a great idea for a poll with just my personal favorite movies on it...
