2024-05-12 04:42:11 +0000 UTCIn both episodes you see Coulson taking point and putting a lot of the pressure of the team on himself whether it was taking drastic measure to finish the map or to lead the small team to get the satellite uplink, it seemed like he knew it had to be done and he had no choice but to take point with everything else going on. Ward on the other hand love or hate I think he's pretty much just evil with a side of weird goodness here and there. Sky's dad is kinda like jackal and hyde but as we learn for good reason Whitehall is true evil that destroyed his life. Good ole Fitz making a semi return, you might not noticed he was kinda a smartass to coulson when he said he could do it in 7:30 mins and Coulson said better get it done, Fitz said yah I was only using 1 hand not both.

2024-05-12 00:01:16 +0000 UTCSo, lots of new info in both these episodes that in standard AoS style just raises new questions! The Hunter/Bobbi dynamic is great fun in as always, and Skye's father is still delightfully unhinged whenever we see him. It's a nice little twist that the reason the writing was driving everyone crazy that they were attempting to render a 3D representation from a 2D perspective, so because Hank's new chosen job allowed him to build it directly in 3D it didn't really affect him. We already knew Ward was very capable, but everything we see in these two episodes just underlines how dangerous he is - not only being able to adjust and effectively neutralise the agents on him, but also making a very intricate plan to take out Christian and his parents whilst blaming Christian. One little thing about him making Bobbi is that he may have met her before in passing, or at least known of her, whereas Hunter is just a merc not a former agent, so it makes sense that she'd be the one that Ward would make out of the pair. The VFX used for the GH flashbacks and the time-passing sequence are both well executed and different to what you might expect. I love the scene on the Bus with the watch and button - it's amusing to watch, but once you get the context later it makes perfect sense what's happening.

2024-05-11 19:52:25 +0000 UTCI forgot how great this season is and how much it piggybacks off of the first. From the Coulson death mysteries to Skye, her parents, and how they seamlessly connect. Even Skye’s father who has reason to hate shield for taking Skye and hiding her and hate hydra who cut his love to pieces. So he’s playing both sides to take them both down. Him also being the death that follows Skye because all the bodies he leaves to find her. Many more stuff to uncover this season about the alien mysteries, the diviner, and what it does. Can’t wait to continue!

2024-05-11 16:41:47 +0000 UTCTwo great episodes! 2x08 especially is a lot of fun on rewatch, as they do _A LOT_ of foreshadowing and wordplay in that one which goes completely over your head on first watch but becomes just a hecking good time on rewatch. 😅 Yeah, those Guest House sessions are disturbing. MCU connection: When Ward is in the bar he says: "With Strucker overseas, someone else has to be in charge. I want to meet him." Strucker is a head of HYDRA that you've met in the movies. He's the guy with the monocle that was experimenting on the twins (Pietro & Wanda Maximoff). LOL at the microphone struggle 😂 The scene where time flies in Werner Reinhart's cell, is some incredible visual effects. MCU connection: Secretary Pierce (from CA:Winter Soldier) is mentioned to be the one that releases his HYDRA buddy Werner Reinhart from his prison sentence. Good job Fitz! He's slowly but surely getting better, bit by bit. Both with his aphasia and fine motor skills. It's crazy to think that the overarching mystery of the show that started in 1x01 (How is Coulson alive?) is still the driving force behind the current major plot device (the GH formula, the symbols, the hidden city).

We have yet to know Skye's fathers name but we now have a clearer idea behind his motives. Whitehall told raina in 2x4 that he operated on a woman on and off for about a week because he struggled to keep her awake during surgery. He was talking about skye's mother. Now we know that she didn't age and was special enough that the diviner didn't kill her when she touched it.

2024-05-11 16:25:15 +0000 UTC2x7 The answers you have been waiting for but of course it just leads to more questions. It is nice to see us get a conclusion to the tahiti story set up in season 1. We now know why they carved and what they were carving. Who all the tahiti people were and why Coulson made that video for Fury at the end of 1x20. This city is important and we are building to big things as we reach the mid season finale.
