Tales of the Empire: Episodes 4 - 6 ✦ YouTube Edit

And here we are with the edited last half of this short series! I was thinking of premiering this on Wednesday, but tbh I think I want to have it go up right after the first one, so this will go public Tues May 28 at 13:30 MDT / 19:30 UTC.

Please enjoy!

hey k, i just had to jump back into comments for this one, given that barriss has been my number one fave for years. i've been hoping her story would be concluded/continued, but really apprehensive as well. they got her right in clone wars, problem was, they didn't give her actions any build up, she just shows back up after many seasons, stages a bombing and frames the main character who everyone loves. it kinda did her dirty honestly. and she had a strong character background in extended materials that got brushed over in all that, which could have been used to give a more sympathetic arc. but anyway.. ..now we come to this series, plus a short story from a book last year as well. and i'm really happy to say they finally nailed it with her imo, in so many big and small ways. her two biggest things have always been that's she's a pacifist, and a force healer. when those parents said "we're here to see the healer" that hit so big for me. and the way you can see she's always apprehensive about fighting.. she tried to recuse herself from front line combat during the war as much as she could and be a medic instead, but the jedi wouldn't fully allow it. and, importantly, she does have understandable anger sometimes, and she lets that out in reasonable ways without it ever taking over, which is very true to her older EU characterization. you never see that shift into disassociation, monsterish behavior, like say dooku or anakin. a strong caring for younger kids is important to her as well, which gets a big highlight here. she worried about what the jedi were doing to the padawans during the war as well, surrounding them with violence. it gave her ptsd from day one so what would it do to them? she bests lyn in combat without making a single move against her. she undoes all her hatred and fear through words and kindness alone. amazing. beautiful. the flash forward we see when she's older is what i always hoped and envisioned for her. she's the hermit in the hills, the wandering do-gooder. she heals, never hurts, her words and care are her power. one of the most true jedi we've ever seen. her musical theme sounded so spiritual. loved it. and her mention of, i assume, ahsoka.. the tears! they did stay in touch. always hoped for that despite what happened. one final interesting note.. her hair. she always covered it in the past. when she goes with the inquisitors, she doesn't. did they not let her? did she stop caring? then it's cut short when she's evolved to her final form. there's something there. not sure what.. but it's interesting
