Jessica Jones: A.K.A. I've Got The Blues [1x11] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share my reactions to the rest of this season. As a heads up, I'm skipping the What We Watched videos this week, which means next weeks videos will be covering Episodes 9-13. We'll have LOTS to discuss but that also gives you more time to get your comments in too. [Direct link here.]

I'll be sharing Episodes 12 and 13 tomorrow.

Jessica Jones: A.K.A. I've Got The Blues [1x11] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

I know you worry about reactions where you don’t talk enough, but your silent expressions and body language is just as important. YouTube and reactions are technically a primarily visual medium after all. I say all that because hence Simpson shows up on screen you just…stop. You look tense and uncomfortable and that says everything. This supporting character really took us on a journey. He could have been a throw away that Kilgrave used and we never saw again. But then he comes back and redeems himself. We see him as an asset and a (sorta) support system for Trish when Jessica tries to protect her/push her away. Then he’s a little overly enthusiastic at helping Jessica, but we want to understand why. Now he just needs to leave. At least that’s what your reactions over the course of the series have said to me.

Not related to this episode specifically, but I recently found out that Eka Darville (Malcolm) lost his 10 year old son Mana to brain cancer last October. They completely drained their savings paying for his care, so...if you see that he's doing a convention near you, might be worth going and buying an autograph/photo op to help him continue to pay off medical bills/care for his family. There is a gofundme that you can find pretty easily if anyone is in a position to help. Sad that anyone should ever have to fundraise for that kind of thing...but...that's the world we live in.

Mike Colter really took hottest man to a new level at the end LOL Granted, I've never been through what Jess has but I do understand not wanting to sleep because that's when the memories and horrors come back stronger than ever. Not to mention, you're vulnerable when you're unconscious. Simpson is so typical. Boyfriend with a shady past gets hooked on drugs and goes on a shooting spree in order to find and kill his girlfriend's best friend. It's practically the summer's next big blockbuster. All that's missing is kidnapping Liam Neeson's daughter. Seriously though, the neighbors at this point must be like, 'Get the earplugs, shit's going down in that Jones girl's place again'. Okay, officially FUCK Trish's mother. Forcing her to throw up in the name of looks, especially at that young of an age. Disgusting. Lastly, I agree with Malcolm. What's so wrong with giving a damn? Even if it goes sideways, at least you tried.

HA! Who needs sleep!? Sleep is for the weak! HaHAHAhaHA!

Jess and Trish flashbacks this episode were great and we see how much a strong bond was formed through their shared traumas.
