Dark: Sic Mundus Creatus Est [1x06] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Oh boy, this is getting to be so much fun. I'm so glad I finally have a firmer grasp on this show, though I'm sure there are things I'm still missing that will be so obvious or clearer on a re-watch! [Direct link here.]

For those of you watching for the first time, feel free to theorize with me! For those who know what's to come, please let us theorize! Don't let us know if we're on the right track or not.

Appreciate you all.

I love the theories!!!

My guess is because 86 her is unfamiliar to him. She's not clearly Mom then, she's Hannah!

The thing I love most about this show is it forces you to think, take notes, do research, and figure this out rather than them spoon-feeding the audience answers. If you're gonna cheat, don't leave the phone bill laying around. Ulrich is such a hypocrite, calling Regina fake when he's the one having an affair. Funny how people pointing fingers, no matter how justified they feel, have just as much dirt under their nails if not more. In turn, Hannah is just gross for filing that false report just to get him to herself. So, so twisted. You find out your wife has cancer and she comes home scratched up and bloody. What do you talk about first? Okay so... Jonas goes into the cave and finds a large door with the triquera symbol and "Sic Mundus Creatus Est" which loosely translates to: And thus the world was created. The triquera symbol is supposed to represent the infinite cycles of life: birth, life, death. So was Mads never supposed to be part of the time travel and therefore he died as a result? So if certain people are chosen to be part of the loop, and the triquera symbol being on the literal doorway of time, is there someone that predetermines it or is that what the gust of wind is when the door is opened? Maybe Mads' eyes were burned out because he saw what he shouldn't have? Or does one passageway lead to death and the other life? It might be plausible since there's three passageways. Assuming the entrance of the cave is the "birth" passageway, it could be that the other two represent life and death. Maybe the death passageway doesn't have the same door. OR the entrance of the cave is life and by going back in time you experience a "rebirth" of sorts? I feel like I'm overthinking it and the revealed solution will make me go "oh duh, why didn't I see that before"

It's interesting that Jonas or anyone would go towards radiation. It also seems odd that Jonas called his mother, 1986, by her name instead of first stumbling on the word mom before saying her name. Like how Marty McFly did when he woke up to his 1955 mom.
