Criston was definitely changed after the Battle of Rook's Rest, and he has a point that the war has now gone to the dragons, rather than diplomacy and subterfuge that the Hightowers were known for, so I definitely get why Criston said Aemond was a better choice. Also maybe because I feel the online hatred and threats Fabien Frankel has been receiving makes me sympathetic towards Criston, despite Criston being ... a bit of a doofus at times. While Jace had a good idea about finding anyone with Targ blood in them to put on dragons, he's feeling increasingly arrogant, especially after treating with the Freys, so 100% agree with you that at some point he's probably going to die. I feel like out of all the Team Black children, Baela is the only one who I'm really rooting for.
