Okay so now I'm starting to think... Adam said they were they exact antithesis of religion. So here's my analysis of what was stated in the episode.
Adam - instead of the first man, he's the last man. instead of being ashamed of his sin against God, he embraces it and challenges God (time). Which his speech certainly seems to point to that.
Noah - instead of being a chance for salvation during the end of all things, he's the inevitable cause of the end of all things.
Instead of God instructing Noah, Noah takes matters into his own hands.
And of course Noah being famous for building the ark during the Great Flood, there's also a flip there. Instead of the world ending in water, it would end in fire, hence the nuclear plant we've seen a few times and the hint of a nuclear wasteland in the future.
Jonas is the literal dichotomy of good and evil. He's stuck trying to both save himself and destroy himself.
"You don't need anyone, you only need yourself" - yeah but, I don't even like myself, Jonas LOL I guess he of all people would understand that!

Definitely. I teared up seeing him tear up when seeing Mikkel. And all his bad choices just wash away because you just want him to hold his son.

The complexity of these characters is what makes me love this show so much. Like, I definitely felt bad for Ulrich here even though he hasn't been the best person ever. But from his perspective, he ended up being stuck in time for 33+ years and was just trying to find his kid. Then he found him and they were forced to separate again. So heartbreaking. Any parent would probably act like him under a similar situation.

Noah has always been portrayed as a menacing character but when he starts to breakdown with Charlotte, it reminds one that even "evil" men have hearts. I remember watching that scene and asking, why is he sad and then it hitting me right before he starts in about Charlotte's mother and the reveal of him being her dad which was the opposite for me for when her mother is revealed. I was kinda slow. I look forward to your reaction on that day.
