BEST episode of the show so far. Really dug the storytelling in this a lot and it was a nice change of pace. 😊

Looking forward to your comments. I have not watched past this episode yet, so please no spoilers! [Direct link here.]

The Punisher: Virtue of the Vicious [1x10] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

The title comes from a quote by Oscar Wilde and english writer. "patriotism is the virtue of the vicious"

So...I have allllll the thoughts, but will try not to bury you in them completely. Firstly, Lewis and the birds. Those are budgies...a species that can't really survive in temps below like 50°F...that he was trying to release into New York City in December. Even if, by some miracle, they weren't preyed upon by a larger animal (pet birds traditionally don't fare well on release into the wild), the cold would have killed them. I just hope, since Brett said that they had already found their owner's body, that they were found ok. Yes, my weird little bird-loving self was more traumatized by the harm that would befall them than the harm that actually befell their human. Oops. Secondly, this episode is the Kastle shipper dream. a) he literally dove in front of a bullet for her (and, oh yeah, you do see Karen pick up the gun that Ori shot in his version of what happened in her retelling of the scene) b) when they're sprawled on the floor in the aftermath of the kitchen bombing, there's a moment when he reaches for her and wraps his hand around the back of her neck and her ear that is -chef's kiss- c) the elevator. I'm probably alone in being happy that they didn't kiss then because I think Karen shouldn't plant one on him (for it to mean what we would want it to, it would need to be initiated by him... he's the one with a wife he's still mourning)...and, honestly, that little forehead touch...a guy like Frank leaning on her for a moment for a little bit of comfort as he is beat to hell? That means more than a kiss, I think.
