Patreon Exclusive - April 2020 (5.3.20)

We continue to push forward and create in this new, strange world. We'll discuss a lot about April's difficulties, but also how May looks to be... knock on wood... smooth sailing?

Comments

Sorry Patreon ate your comment! I'd advise folks to write in a separate app and then copy/paste it — Patreon gets hungry sometimes. It's meant a lot to hear from folks — here, on Twitter, on Twitch, everywhere — that our stuff has been helping reduce anxiety about the state of the world. We just want to help, and to give ourselves normalcy in the process, too. 2020 is just a bizarre year. Podcast is moving forward! In fact, I should hopefully be announcing something during Breakfast Stream tomorrow morning. I'm excited that things are happening. We actually got a handful of requests for Hoedown as an alert so we decided to go for it! I think it really does work great as a neutral tune, since it's not tied to any games. I plan to add the Irish Drinking Song at some point in the future, possibly near the end or after Super Mario RPG. Speaking of, I'm so glad you're enjoying SMRPG! It's a game I always suspected we'd get around to — we've played so many of my important childhood games (EarthBound, DKC, Kirby Super Star) that I knew RPG would happen someday. It's really fun to revisit it and see what I can recall. More has come back to me than I expected, actually. May has been a good month for us. I'm more ahead than I've been in a long, long time, and finally have the much-needed time to dive into old projects without feeling like I'm sacrificing things somewhere else. Mal has been using it to catch up and she's nearly there! Her May painting should actually debut in May this time. I know she's very relieved. Thanks again, PC. Hopefully June is even better, for everyone.

Sorry...I don't know how to properly put space in between paragraphs for this. Arise looks like a good game, but it is more fun with Mal making crazy hijinks and making you so stressed. Also, it is cool to see another SMRPG let's play. I haven't seen one since NCS's YEARS ago. Also, I like the idea that you would have a podcast where the only thing you see is the game boy disc only screen for an hour or so with you all talking about whatever. I am glad that May is going to be so much fun. I know that I will be pretty much stuck in my apartment even though there are not too many people with it in the area. Also, I like that you have visiting Thomas to look forward to in the future. I can't wait to see another cute cat in the future. In terms of what to look forward to in the future, I am looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077. Even though I have not played any CD Project Red game to this point, the previews that have come out and the style of the game have drawn me in like a moth to a flame. I am glad that you and Mal and Kepler are doing well. I hope that you have a great month and I will see you for another SMRPG stream.

April was a crazy month for everyone. I am glad that TRG Direct went well. 250K?!?!?!?!? Astounding! I am glad that all of the money is going to a great cause. I agree with the productivity issue; I have had some issues with getting things done as a teacher doing distance learning in NY. I would do anything for my mom as well. She is a great person who has to deal with a lot of things with my family.

Hi Stephen, •Apparently my previous comment got eaten so I have to write this again. • Man, April has been quite the month. With classes finishing this week there will be less stress to be put under. Again I want to thank you and Mal for creating amazing content during these difficult times. Your guys content is what literally made these times a lot easier for me. So thank you. Anyhow, I’m excited to hear that you guys are gonna start a Podcast. With it starring you, Jon, Tom, and Jerod I know it will be funny/entertaining. The chemistry between all of you work so well that there will never be a dull moment. Speaking of TRG, Colosseum was amazing. Even though you and Mal weren’t in many segments, when you guys did appear, those segments were amazing and funny. Especially during Josh’s Art segment, you guys were brilliant. I loved how you sang the Irish Drinking Song rather than the Hiker Dance Song (maybe you can make the Irish Drinking Song/Hoedown an alert. maybe....) Man I couldn’t stop laughing, you guys were hilarious. Also, I’m excited, exhilarated, hyped, and other words meaning the same thing, about SMRPG. I’ve waited so long for you guys to let’s play this. For me, I started SMRPG after I finished EB on the SNES Classic. I played SMRPG and got through more than half way, but stopped (I got to finish it before you guys stream it all). I found so much joy and entertainment from playing it I kept on thinking to myself, “ Wouldn’t it be great if Stephen and Mal let’s played this?” I wanted you guys to play the game on the channel so much that I had to keep turning to your SNES Classic episode of it to cope my feelings. Now you guys are playing it and you made my wish come true. I knew you were like a fairy godmother. Godgrandpa????? I don’t know where I’m trying to get to. Anyways, thanks for all you guys do. I hope May will treat you both nicely. These time are difficult, but look at the brighter side of it. Nature is thriving as it used to be. Animals are coming back and the earth is much healthier now. Literally, I get to appreciate nature more than ever. Anyways when I originally wrote this before it got eaten up, it was May 4th, so I’m gonna make the reference again, “May the 4th be with you.” or since its May 5th now, it's the " Revenge of the 5th." Sincerely, ~PC (5/8 Edit) Funny for me to ask for Hoedown to be an Alert, and now during Friday Night Stream, there is the Hoedown Alert.
