Mix & Match, Game 8, 3rd Place Winner

In the format that I've been working with throughout this game, there are three winners that each get representation in the form of a sequel. Included here is the original round that inspired it, as well as the sequel story.
The third place winner was Afterlife of Haley, a story in where the main character of that series lives on as a spirit or, in keeping with the southern traditions of the series, a haint. This one is more horror than fats, but there are still fats.
They're just spooky.
