Watchmen is one of my favorite comics of all time (boo, hiss)

Its influence on the medium cannot be overstated, its storytelling is groundbreaking, and it was written by the angriest wizard to have ever lived. It is, in my humble opinion, a perfect graphic novel.

It's also really hard to write fatlit about because of how fucking dense it is.

Not long after Alan Moore wrote Watchmen, and before he was on the outs with DC, he wrote supplemental material for the DC Heroes tabletop roleplaying game - which serves as the basis for this story here.

Sally Jupiter isn't the slender, sexy stage mom that she'd want you to remember her as. Even by 1967, she's become a washed-up wad, left to gather moss in a bariatric facility out in California.
You'd have never known by looking at her that she used to be the Silk Spectre - the first one, from back in the forties.
An old teammate from her Glory Days has an idea on how to make the most out of their bad situation, and motivate this new Silver Age of heroes.
After all, Laurie would do anything to save her mother - even if Sally really, really doesn't need saving...
