Weekly Update #19 (With extra information for new patrons!)

57 hours this week. I told y'all it wouldn't be long before I was back to 50-60 hour weeks... even though it was only less than that for one week. I forgot to blue Saturday and Sunday, though. I definitely did not do 21 hours of pure work just on Friday.

Anyways, onto the update!

New Patron Stuff!

First off, welcome and thank you! Seriously, it means a lot to me that you think my stuff is worth paying any amount for. I'm trying my hardest to make enough through my writing that I can live off of it which is why I'm writing and editing for a total of 50-60 hours most weeks, so to see new patrons coming in and appreciating that means a ton to me. If I want to make money off of this, you can bet your ass I'll be treating it like a full-time job and then some. I don't consider this just writing stories on the internet for fun, I consider this running my own business.

Anyways, again, thank you. Seriously.

I've noticed a few of you join the Discord but not get your Patreon Waifu roles. I don't know whether it's because you didn't properly link your Discord accounts to your Patreon accounts, or because the bot just wasn't working properly, but I've manually assigned the role to a few of you. If there's anybody who hasn't gotten their role, and you actually care about having it, then you can just comment here with your Discord name or DM me on Discord and let me know you need the role still. I suggest joining just because I can be reached there 24/7 unless I'm sleeping, and if there's ever a delay with the chapters for the day, I'll say it in the Patreon channels there.

Aside from that, I do these weekly updates every week where I post my worksheet which goes over how many hours I worked for you in the past week, a meme or some stupid reference, updates on the stories and future plans, and then just random stuff at the end more or less. You don't really need to read these since like, only a couple of people do in the first place, but yeah!

One important thing to note is how releases on here work. I post new chapters to the $10 tier first, and then once a new $10 chapter has been posted, I go and make whichever one I posted a week ago available to the $5 tier. Some people don't get notifications for this, but rest assured, if a new $10 chapter is available then that also means a new $5 chapter is available even if it's not popping up at the top of the page.

TTE, my first "main" story, updates pretty strictly every day by 6 PM EST. EDE, which is what most of you newcomers (<3) are here for, is on a much less strict schedule. However, that does not mean I'm not giving it equal amounts of love. I will try to update EDE as much as I can as frequently as I can, but my only real goal for it is three times a week at no specific time. As long as I can meet that goal, I'm happy with myself. My upcoming third story will be the same. Honestly, I think it's better to do it this way than what I'm doing with TTE. Sure, TTE may have more consistent updates, but I always feel limited by the time and pressured to get stuff out on time every single day whereas I can take my time more with EDE to make sure everything is perfect. Anyways, I think that's about all I've really got to say to you new patrons. Is it obvious yet that my weekly updates are more or less just me rambling?

The True Endgame

Hnnggggg. I think this third volume is my favorite by far. I've been having a ton of fun writing the recent chapters. Everybody is just so cute and rhgedshgrs. Cassiel has easily become my best girl of TTE now. Yes, Rock is still the best girl, but Cassiel is best non-doggo girl. Anyways, not much to say about TTE this week!

Ero Dungeon Evolution

There's plenty to say about EDE, however. Hot damn has it had some amazing success on RRL so far! It's not only the fourth most read story on RRL in the past week, but it's gained 700 followers in under 7 days, it made it all the way up to rank #56 and is currently sitting at #70, has a total of over 130,000 views with an average of almost 5,000 per chapter, 135 favorites, and 102 ratings! That's like, seriously insane. None of my other stories have come anywhere close to being this popular. It's on track so far to blow TTE out of the water in terms of views and popularity. I'm sure it'll slow down now that it's caught up to Hentai Foundry in releases, but it's still amazing to see just how positively it's been received so far!

A new chapter will be out tonight, by the way. I've just got some things to do around the apartment, I need to eat still, blahblah, and so on. Then I'll be posting the weekly PDF uploads afterward.

Also, it was way more work than I thought it'd be porting EDE to RRL, hence why the hours are so high this past week despite not getting that much writing done.

Subverting Tropes in Another World

Ahhhhhhhhh, I'm back to not really knowing whether to do this or not. The few patrons who read this back when I was first doing it all loved it, but--and I know this makes me sound greedy--I want to do something that I'm confident will bring me a bunch of new patrons. Let's face it, money is important. As much as I love STAW's concept, I don't know if it would be popular to the masses and bring in new patrons. I'm already planning on making it more harem-y and with sex scenes (previously, neither of those were planned), but I'm not sure if that's enough to really warrant going all out with it.

And, with just how successful EDE has been, it's really hammered in the point that LitRPG and dungeon stories sell.

No, I'm never going to be a sell out and write something only for profit. I will only ever write things I genuinely want to write and love to write. However, that doesn't mean I can't find a story that I would love to write while also pandering to what the people want! STAW could probably compete with TTE in terms of popularity, but now I want to write something that could be even more popular than EDE is.

If you're new here, now is when you learn that I am extremely self-competitive. I constantly want to outdo myself. I'm fine if I don't, but you can bet your ass I'm always going to be trying to.

Also, for those of you new here and have no idea what STAW is: basically, middle-aged guy who absolutely despises fantasy tropes/cliches gets summoned into an extremely cliche demon realm to be the new demon king and stuff, and basically tries his absolute hardest to subvert every single trope that is thrown his way because of his seething hatred for unoriginality. He hates tropes to the point where he'll do something that fucks himself over if it means not giving in to cliché.
