2017-05-23 00:41:26 +0000 UTCThis seems like a real "damned if you do, damn if you don't" type movie. Either make it more like Prometheus and lose money or make it more like Alien and lose the movie being memorable. But studios love money, so it was an easy choice.

This is a common problem in lots of forms of storytelling, from books to games to movies. In an effort to milk fans for more money, things get over-explained in sequels and it undermines what makes it good to begin with.
