Weekly Update #34 (Special Thanks Edition!)
Added 2018-11-19 20:51:33 +0000 UTCFirst and foremost, thank you. Today is #ThankYouPatrons day, and I originally thought this was kind of silly since I'm always thankful for you all and try to make that clear, but those of you still with me here really do deserve the extra praise! So, thank you again for your wonderful support. I wouldn't be able to do this without it, seriously. Your continued support is the only reason why I am able to do what I love for a living and write every single day. Hopefully, this support lasts so that I am able to continue providing you with new stories to read, but I'm grateful even if you only ever donate a single dollar to me. So, once more, thank you for your patronage<3!
Now, onto the regularly scheduled weekly update.

52 hours last week, and about half of those were spent on the dreaded task of revising EDE for RR.
The True Endgame
Not much to report this week!
Ero Dungeon Evolution
Alrighty, so, I talked about this on Discord, but I'll say it here as well. A couple of you have brought up how it feels like the story is just Damian repeating a mental checklist and not actually getting anything done. Now, I understand why you feel that way. You see, I'm a discovery writer first and foremost. I have a general idea of what is going to happen for an arc, but the day-to-day writing is 99% unknown to me. Even when I'm working with an outline, they usually get derailed and are only ~50 words per chapter when each chapter is over 1k words.
So, I wrote a checklist of things that he needed to do, but then something else popped up which grabbed his attention. Then, once that was over with, he reminded himself (and the readers) again of what needed to be done to flow into that. Only, something else popped up which led to the checklist not getting done. When I get around to revising this for self-publication, the previous repetitions of checklists are going to be removed so that it no longer feels that way.
So, yes, in the first volume, he went over a checklist a few times without ever actually getting anything done.
Now, nobody has brought this up before the second volume... but the second volume is when he's actually getting things done. Like I said, I can understand why it feels like he's gone over the checklist a bunch of times before without getting anything done, but he's specifically focusing on it now to get things done. He already resolved the food problem which was one of the biggest concerns on the "checklist," and now he's actively working on the next item on the list. The list is going to get done now so that the plot can move on, and don't worry, it's not going to take long.
Steel Glory
To be completely honest with you all, I'm kind of thinking of changing things up here. Now, I've gotten next to no feedback on this story aside from knowing that people enjoy the training sections (which are basically comedy sections) and the more slice-of-lifey sections. That makes sense since slice of life is obviously my strong suit at this point. At least, I think so. I've also come to realize that, when it comes to writing the action scenes and battles... I just fail to make them as great as I want them to be. It's really hard to translate my thoughts into words when it comes to all the mechanical workings going on involving the mechas, flying formations and maneuvering, etc. It's the kind of stuff that I genuinely believe would look amazing visually, but in written form, is kind of meh. I just feel like those who enjoy the story are enjoying it for the base life with any mecha action just being sort of *eh*. So, over the weekend, I've been toying with the thought of switching things up with this story... essentially starting over. Rather than a borderline-apocalypse story featuring aliens and giant robots, turn it into a mecha training academy slice of life story with some drama.
I'm not sure yet. This week will continue it as it already is and I'll think more about this after (hopefully) getting some feedback regarding it. Oh, and the cast (mechas included) would remain the same. But yeah, let me know what you think. It'd honestly be pretty easy to convert it into a slice of life, and some of the chapters could straight up be copied over directly.
The Queen's Hound
Now, while I've been suffering with SG's action, I personally think I've been doing pretty good with woof's. And yes, I'm calling it woof still because TQH looks ugly. Anyways, I fixed one of the chapters over the weekend, but it's still very much a not-bad-but-not-really-good-either chapter. I think it's good enough, especially considering that web novels are essentially just rough drafts, which is enough. I'm too excited to write more of this story to spend days trying to perfect a single part of a chapter.
I've seriously got so much planned for this story that it's just stupid and going to take years to get through all of it. So, here's to hoping that it'll be a success! I'm going to post it to RR sometime this week.
In Closing
I'm going to be taking Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving. I'm still probably going to write woof chapters on those days just because it's going to be its first month and I'm going to try daily (Saturday and Sunday included) uploads on RR for the first 30 days of it. But yeah, don't expect anything, including woof (I might get lazy), this Thursday and Friday. After those two days, you can expect 5 chapters a week per story again up until my birthday week (I'll only be taking one day off then), and Christmas week (I'll probably post chapters the weekend working up to it and then take Christmas and the rest of the week off).
Anyways, that's all for this week! Thank you again for the support. Seriously, I just can't even put into words how grateful I am for all of you. Oh, hey, that can be what I'm grateful for this Thanksgiving: all of you!
Speaking of Thanksgiving, do you have any plans? Going to cook anything? Got any recipes to share? Let me know in the comments!
