Weekly Update #85

I'll say it this week and next week just to be clear. There will be chapters next week. There will not be chapters the week after, AKA Christmas week.

On another note, woo, my birthday is next week. You'll still get your regular chapter on it, though, so no worries about that.

Other than that... this week was a pretty good week! I was very happy with all the chapters I released. Though, it's kind of funny, because whenever I think I'm giving people a lot to comment on and talk about with a really good chapter, I never get comments on those chapters = P.

Speaking of Christmas, I may or may not do a special meta chapter for it or something. Not sure.

12 hours and 17,931 words \o/. That's 3 hours less than last week and about 600 more words! I think that this is probably as fast as I can possibly get when it comes to writing these chapters, though. That's 3 hours per 5k word chapter and 2 hours per 3k word chapter. Well, most 5k chapters are 4,500 - 5,000 and most 3k chapters are 2,500 - 3,000, but still. They do hit that upper amount enough for the 5k/3k to be averages still, I think = P. Regardless, it used to take me four times the amount of, well, time to write the same amount. Now I'm down to 12 hours for 5 stories. Damn. Imagine if I could only write multiple stories in a day with that speed. Unfortunately, my speed dramatically suffers as soon as I try to do more than one story in a day most of the time, so no 20 stories a week. Maybe someday.

Of course, I could always try to write even bigger chapters or multiple chapters in a day... but I think I've trained my brain to just sort of be like, "oh, you're at 5k/3k? time to stop working."

The True Endgame

I recently saw people on the NU forum talking about how they feel like TTE has lost its way. I get confused when I read things like this, especially when they don't exactly give any farther context than that. However, I do usually see people say something like how volume 2 was the last good one :thonk:. That especially confuses me since, if anything, I feel like the second volume was the one that was "losing its way" when compared to all the others. Volume 2 is still at the bottom of the tier list when it comes to best TTE volumes. So, this makes me think that I might have presented the earlier volumes in the wrong light or something. Volumes 3-6 are peak TTE to me, especially 5 and 6. Or maybe 4 and 6.

Anyways, that's just a thing. I wish people would give more context and elaborate when they say things like that so I could understand them. Because, when people say that a slice of life romance series has lost its way... when it's more slice of life and romantic than anywhere in the first few volumes, I get confused and wonder if they're actually reading my story or something else.

Lily being best girl as per usual. Anyways, there's probably... one more mini arc of sorts that I've got planned for this first volume, and then we'll be moving onto the second volume. Probably 3-4 more chapters at most for this first volume, maybe?

Too bad it's probably definitely not eligible for Amazon now.

The Queen's Hound

This story's latest chapter had a couple of moments that I really expected to get at least a couple of comments on, but alas, no comments (at least not on what I thought there would be comments on) = P. That aside, I think I could have handled the whole ending part better in regard to Woofen's reaction to it, but I think I know a good way of improving on that with the beginning of the next chapter.

Daddy CORE being Daddy CORE. The main arc for this volume has really begun now, so we'll be on this action/drama ride until the end of the volume. There will still be moments to relax though, of course.

Wew, birthday next week. Yay, super fast writing speed. Boo, people making me do a confuse on TTE. Yay, fluff.
