The 100th Weekly Update!

Alright, I've officially been at this for 100 weeks. Woo. I should probably talk about some special stuff or something but I don't know what to talk about. More importantly,

1. It's Friday:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TewCPi92ro

2. The finale of the Astartes video series is out in case that's something you were watching:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoCcpMW8fSs

The Astartes video reminded me that I really want to write a 40k-esque series, but... come on, me? Anything even slightly close to 40k? That would probably be a bigger disaster than when I tried writing the edgy grimdark that was ASV. And how would I make it anime-y? How would I force a harem into it? What's the point of writing anything that isn't anime-y and with a harem of cute waifus?

The closest thing I could even think of that's anywhere even slightly like 40k while being anime... would probably be Goblin Slayer. Yes, they're absolutely, colossally different things. Even so, GS is still the closest in style that I can think of when it comes to 40k. And by style I gues I mean GS is slightly grimdank.

Clearly, I need to write a 40k-esque novel with a harem and a LitRPG system in it. Well, maybe not that last part. And maybe not that first part, either. That leaves me with... I need to write a harem novel. Sounds about right.

I also remember coming up with a vague idea for a story basically featuring the DOOM guy as a MC. I just really want to write a story about some badass guy going around killing stuff, but without being a total murderhobo about it. But being a badass going around killing stuff really isn't my style as an author. Also, I was just joking about the litrpg thing, but now I'm thinking of something going the Halo route - guy in badass space tech armor stuff with an AI chip installed, and the AI basically manages a pseudo-system for him.

Blagh, I don't know. I already have 4 new series I'm working on right now, jumping back and forth between them. I would like a 5th so that I can do 2 stories a day, 10 a week, to help rejuvenate my Patreon since its numbers aren't doing too well right now, but I don't even know if I'll really go through with the four I'm working on right now. I'm already in talks with artists for 3 of them, and one has already received some art, so that one is definitely going to happen. As for the others - who knows.

Anyways, time for memes 'nd things:

20 hours, 24,088 words. Nowhere near as much as I wanted to write since I really wanted to push myself into writing like twice as much as usual for the new series I'm working on, but mental health can be a bitch sometimes.

The True Endgame

Oh, TTE. You sweet little baby you. My oldest (surviving) and longest series. I don't even know where I'd be if I wasn't writing you every single week. If it wasn't for your (albeit limited) success, I might have given up. That would have been back-to-back flops for me and I would have assumed that there was no way I could make enough money to survive off of my own writing. Fortunately, though, you made it. You earned your place at the top of RR's trending list, you brought in some followers, and you got me some patrons - many of who are still here. You've had some bumpy spots here and there, but you've generally stayed consistent, and you've still got plenty of life left in you.

Ero Dungeon Online

EDO, you were once EDE. As EDE, you did well, were more successful than TTE, and you brought me even more patrons, but... in the end, you weren't true to yourself. That was my fault. I strayed from my plans for your original plot, I had no idea what I was doing (moreso than usual), and I just wasn't happy with where you were going even if other people were. That was why you had to be reborn. Now, as EDO, you may not be as popular, you aren't allowed near the prudes of RR, and you might lack the serious conflict that people liked in EDE, but damn it if you're not a better story overall. Those who have read both generally agree that you are the superior version in terms of quality, consistency, and lewds. You may have replaced an E for an O, but you're making your former self damn proud and will continue doing so for some time.

The Queen's Hound

TQH, TQH, TQH. You - well, you're my most popular story out of them all. You're the one that took me from being some guy making side-job money on Patreon to full-time career money on Patreon. Yet, you are my second most controversial story, and not without good reason. I am well aware of the problems you face regarding pacing and consistency, and there is a lot of love that you will need to undergo when it comes to editing you and getting you ready for self-publishing. Even now, I feel like the people who are still reading you have no idea if they're actually enjoying you or not. Your numbers are down everywhere, you're losing followers on Royal Road, you no longer bring in patrons unless it's an evolution chapter since most people who were reading you at first only really cared as long as you were a LitRPG, but you're still mine and I have every intention of keeping you going. After all, we're only just now going to be going into all of the major plotlines that I had planned for you since I wrote the first chapter. Whether people continue liking you or not doesn't matter. You have a goal, and you are going to see that goal through. There's still a whole bunch of life left inside of you! Besides, even if others aren't happy with you, I'm still happy with you. And there are at least a few others happy with you, too, so I'm not the only one!

Lazy Dragon Queen

And here we have the youngest - well, second-youngest, child. I wanted to make the youngest child reference since it's usually the youngest child who turns out the best because of all the past mistakes made during the first children and all that, but - well, CORE is technically the youngest. Anyways, you might not be the actual youngest, but you're still the one who has learned from the mistakes of all others. Though, perhaps it's because it's borderline impossible to make mistakes with you? You have no real plot, you're pure fluff, pacing doesn't matter, universe consistency doesn't matter since things are more or less purposely inconsistent and it can always be justified even further with an Inconsistency-chan, and just... you're my highest quality story. I know that this might hurt the feelings of the others, but you are, without a doubt, my highest quality story. If somebody were to ask me which story best represents my style, I would recommend you. There is no story that feels more like me - like a story of Ace Arriande than you. May you live a long life, LDQ, and may you have a larger harem than all of my other stories combined.

CORE

And here we have the biggest troublemaker of all my stories. The most controversial, the most debated, the most salt-inducing - CORE. Naturally, the man himself, the big Daddy CORE, would have it no other way! He must be the best at everything and that includes being the best at being controversial! Now, to be more serious, CORE is in a similar boat to TQH. It has many pacing issues, lots of things that need fixed, and so on, but I'm still incredibly happy with CORE. I love CORE, both the series and the main character, and I have many plans with every intention of keeping this story going for a while. Continue being wonderful, CORE, because I will always love you and the things about you that others hate so much. Their hate only makes me want to love you even more of spite!

In Closing

Phew. Alright, I actually managed to type more than I thought I would. I was worried this 100th update would be lame. Is it still lame? Yeah, probably. I mean, it was mostly just me rambling and then me writing love letters to my own stories, basically. But, does it need to be anything else?

Probably not.

Once more, thank you all for your continued support, especially in these uncertain economic times. I will do my best for you to continue giving you stories that you enjoy to read, and I will be putting in even more work this month to get some new series launched!

Thank you again for everything, and please look forward to next week's chapters!

And make sure to stay clean and healthy!
