Weekly Update #87
Added 2020-01-03 15:57:40 +0000 UTCAnd back from break in case that wasn't obvious.
Oof. As nice as having a break was, the past two weeks could have been better. I found out like an hour before Christmas that TTE was pirated and put onto Amazon, again, so that was the third time in a month I had to report copyright infringement. It was taken down on the same day as reporting it, thankfully, but still annoying.
Then that was probably the worst month I've had all year in terms of patron retainment only to end up getting the most declined charges I've had on the 1st since starting Patreon.
The good news is that all of these are just little problems, nothing major. And hopefully, the new story I'm working on will bring in some fresh blood to the Patreon.
That aside, I hope that you all had a nice holidays! It's time for a new decade now. I hope that you're looking forward to another decade of chapters, because that's what you're getting.

27 hours and 26,974 words. Huh, to suddenly have my hours more than doubled and my words increased. It's almost as if I'm not-so-secretly working on something else.
A lot of those hours were research for the something else, too. Blegh. Who actually researches the themes that they want to incorporate into their stories?
Anyways, I'll probably add even more hours and words to this week before it's over.
The True Endgame
I've come to a realization.
I should probably just split up volume 6 at this point.
If I end it within a few chapters... it would be over 550 pages if not 600 pages whereas previous volumes are all only about 350-450 pages. It would probably be better to just cut volume 6 off at an earlier point, making it primarily a SoL volume, while having the latest chapters be the first half of the 7th volume, giving the 7th volume a more actual progress feeling overall.
I don't want one volume to be particularly longer than the other volumes because of how that would translate to selling on Amazon. If I sell volumes 1-5 at $2.99 each, and then volume 6 comes out while having significantly more content, the fair thing to me would be to increase the price, but I'd feel bad about one volume being more expensive than the others. If I leave it at the same price to be fair to the buyers then, when the next volume comes after that and is a normal size again, there's the potential of having people wondering why they're paying the same price as before for significantly less content.
That's why it's best to try and stay consistent with volume size. So, I'm probably going to have to figure out a good spot for cutting off volume 6 for organization, and then I'll have to modify it to have more of a solid ending for the volume later on.
So, yeah. You can probably just say that we're actually a good few chapters into volume 7 at this point.
Also, I may or may not be playing around with the idea of adding a brand new recurring character to the self-published version starting with volume 1 - another of Fenrir's/Olly's/Bone's friends. We'll see.
Ero Dungeon Online
Seeing as how I don't even know if I'll actually be selling EDO anywhere - well, even if I do, I just need to stay consistent as mentioned above. Either way, I'm thinking of having some chonky volumes for EDO. EDO is currently at 299 pages, and I was planning on ending the volume soon, but I'm kind of thinking I might end up doing 350-400 page volumes similar to TTE.
On that note, I see EDO probably having... maybe 3-4 volumes in it? That's how much content I can imagine working into it right now, that is. It's always possible that I'll end up getting even more ideas for it later on, just like how TTE was 60% complete just a volume or two ago and now I'd only consider it like 40% complete probably.
The Queen's Hound
Alright, the first arc of this third volume has been wrapped up. Now we're going to have some more of that LitRPG-y stuff that I know people love... if those people have even managed to sit around through the lack of it. TQH has gone from getting like 20 likes on here per chapter to 4-5 likes per chapter, so = P.
Alas, even if it's losing popularity, I'm more happy with it than ever which is all that really matters since I'm a horribly selfish author who strictly writes for myself rather than anybody else.
I'm also getting some pretty great ideas for what to add/change/foreshadow when I get around to revising the first volume. I'm excited for that.
Also, have I mentioned that we're only just now getting close to the 8 volume overall arc that I had in mind since starting the story? We're halfway through the third volume and have only gently grazed the overall plot. Of course, some would say that that's horrible writing, but fuck them uwu.
Lazy Dragon Queen
Despite being my least popular story, LDQ gets more views than it has in followers both on RR and SH which none of my other stories do, and LDQ has been getting the most likes on its chapters out of all my stories for the past few weeks here on Patreon.
Which I think is fair since I personally think that LDQ is my highest quality story.
Anyways, it's going to be a fun challenge trying to juggle all of the waifus who are getting added.
Again, there are going to be a lot of waifus. We're only barely scratching the surface right now. Like, imagine collecting every single girl in some mobile gacha game. That's how many waifus there are going to be.
Well, maybe not that much, but a lot. 20 is like the bare minimum.
And more are coming next chapter \o/
CORE
Poor CORE. I had things to talk about with all my other stories but I don't really have anything to say this week about CORE.
Uh... it's still my most divisive story?
CORE is still daddy and probably my favorite lead out of all my stories?
Anyways, this week's chapter had a very heavy focus on actual dungeon stuff, and it's probably going to be one of the last chapters to have that much of a focus on dungeon-y stuff. It's definitely not going to still be a dungeon novel after this volume. I mean, it's CORE we're talking about. He's got some big plans and has no intention of hanging around in the same place forever.
And when we get to stuff like village/kingdom building, it's not going to really be litrpg-y at all. It'll be focusing more on characters and social stuff.
Uh, other than that... CORE is probably my lowest % completed story. There is a lot that I still have planned, probably enough for at least 8 more volumes. I think. We'll see. Just like how there's always a chance that I'll come up with even more ideas for my series, there's always the chance that I'll cut some ideas out.
In Closing
Thanks for your continued support like always! I have a lot of plans for this year, so I'm really excited. As for the new series that I'm working on, I think I'll probably wait until I have a bunch of chapters for it and then dump them in batches. Like 1-10 one day, 11-20 the next, 21-30 after that, and so on. I'll maybe get like... 60 1k word chapters done before that? Or maybe 70. That way, I could do it so you get 10k total words for it a day for the first week, and then I'd switch to the whole "3k a week" thing like with LDQ, EDO, and CORE.
I have no intention of doing any more 5k weekly series like TTE and TQH. Even once they're inevitably over, I won't be replacing them with more 5k weekly series. I personally feel like 3k a week is the perfect length for me as a writer. Don't worry, though. TTE and TQH will remain 5k a week until they're done.
Anyways, that's all. Thank you once again and welcome to the new decade!
