June Dormitory Diary Entry - Shimai

This is my dormitory diary entry for June.

My days haven’t changed much from the last month or two. I’d like something to break the monotony.

In-between training will be over in a month, and I’m still getting called out for the precision of my clean-ups…

I feel like I haven’t improved much lately, and I'm starting to get afraid that even my mentor might give up on me soon...! I spend a lot of time worrying about this even though they’re still very enthusiastic about teaching me. I just gotta make it to the end. If I can conquer this, then I’ll be on my way to being a good animator.

I’ve gotten commissions in the past few days which is great. Though, I’m not sure if I have the art skills for them. Still, I feel like it’s good practice for animators to take requests and be forced to draw within some limitations. The illustrations that I do for these posts are good practice too in that I can draw without worry about my work.

I’ll be continuing to work hard this month, all the while suppressing my desire to exclusively draw cutesy characters. (lol)

6月の寮生日記になります。

先月、先々月とあまり変わらない日々を過ごしています。何か刺激になるようなことをしたいです。

動画の研修があと１ヶ月で終わります。そしてやっぱりクリンナップの精度についてご指摘を受け続けております…。

全然成長しない私にそろそろ先生も呆れられるかも…！？と怯えて過ごしているのですが、それでも熱心にご指導をしてくださいます。この壁を乗り越えたら良いアニメーターになれると思って最後まで乗り切りたいです。

近日はありがたいことに、ご依頼をいただいて絵を描くこともあります。仕事になる絵のクオリティになっているのか不安ですが、要望に沿った絵を描くというのがアニメーターにとって良い訓練になっているような気がします。寮生日記のイラストは仕事に関係なく力を抜いて描くことができるので息抜きにはちょうど良いです。

本当はかわいいキャラクターばっかり描きたいよ〜という気持ちを抑えて今月も頑張ります！(笑)
