Hydra heads are not the most intelligent things, especially when they belong to a near mindless beast. Swoop low and between the monsters legs so the heads try to follow you, they will then cause the beast to trip and fall backwards. This tactic will not consume your precious hp/energy and will allow Maud to restore herself.

It's not a big deal if your attack doesn't connect, but it is essential that the monster finds you a credible threat and that you keep moving quickly and erratically enough that it can't catch you.
