So you finally reached the reveal in what truly happened in arc 1. Keiichi was overcome with stress and paranoia suspecting his friends as murderers when they simply only wanted to maintain the current friendship they had.. by keeping tightlipped of the painful past. A reasonably understandable line of thinking. Doesn't make it all any less tragic. With this reveal, it really recontextualizes the entire show up til now. How much of it was all purely paranoid mental gymnastics created from odd yet innocent mundane words and behavior. In fact there are some implications of answers to other arcs from reveals given here. For example, see the parallels of Rena in this arc and Keiichi in arc 3 (Satoko's storyline) being freaked out from the disappearance of the body of Satoko's uncle. Both also came to the conclusion that there's some form of dopellganger thing happening when the truth has shown in this arc is so simple and grounded. It makes sense that Mion would be the one to hide the body. In the visual novel, Keiichi wasn't exactly subtle of his plans lol. It makes you realize... maybe this whole entire time we've been bamboozled and driven insane to make crazy theories just like these characters when the entire time everything could be simplified as something simple and reasonable 😂 Higurashi is just genius lol
