Livestream Celebration!

We're celebrating reaching our first Patreon goal with a livestream just for Eonites! It will be Friday, September 21, at 3pm ET. Here is a time zone converter. We'll answer your questions, nerd out over paleontology, and have an awesome time.

Mark your calendars! And if you have questions you'd like us to answer, leave them in the comments of this post.

Thank you for helping us reach our first goal! We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Hi! I have a question. I think this would make a really good episode too. This article exploring the similarities between the function of seritonin in humans and octopus concludes that the function of seritonin originated in the last common ancestor of both species. How do they know that's the case rather than convergent evolution? <a href="https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-09/mbl-sfa092018.php" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-09/mbl-sfa092018.php</a>

Are there other ways to help support Eons, like volunteer fieldwork, outreach, etc? (Please say fieldwork 🤓⛰🔨🔬)

I'm curious about why the Ediacaran biota are not considered to be the start of the Phanerozoic Eon.

More paleoartists appear to be showing theropods with covered teeth these days. Could you comment on views held in the scientific community regarding exposed v.s. enclosed dinosaur teeth.

How can you tell the difference between a coprolite and just another rock? .. and how much information can you get out of a coprolite? .. and is there any way you can associate a coprolite with a particular animal?
