I would love to see a special on Desmostylia. (Or, alternately, one specifically on convergent evolution since that's one of my favorite things).

TL:DR, bats have fragile bones making fossilization very rare, so finding a complete specimen is frustrating work

2018-09-28 22:32:11 +0000 UTCQuinlan - great question and something my partner and I were wondering about too! How did bats evolve flight and how are they related to other flying/gliding mammals? Unfortunately, when I did some quick searching I came almost immediately to David Peters' website The Pterosaur Heresies (related to his Reptile Evolution website). I perused a bit and then wondered who this guy was, at which point I found a Scientific America article on him and his "research." I'd recommend reading the SA article; it's a good example about how you need to check your sources of information. https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/tetrapod-zoology/world-must-ignore-reptileevolution-com/
