Podcast Questions for Myria Perez?
Added 2021-03-25 17:55:25 +0000 UTCOur podcast episode with Cameron Muskelly is coming soon, but in the meantime, Kallie is recording an episode with Myria Perez next week! Myria is a Paleontologist and fossil preparator. Here's some more info about her:
Myria Perez has been fascinated with dinosaurs since she was young. Her passion for paleontology led her to volunteer at her local Houston Museum of Natural Science at the age of twelve. There, she found mentors, learned to prepare fossils, cared for museum specimens, and went on excavations with the paleo crew. She pursued her undergraduate degrees in Geology and Anthropology at Southern Methodist University while working in the fossil labs on campus in between her classes. During her collegiate years, she worked on a variety of fossil vertebrates including marine reptiles from across the globe. She conducted research and was a part of a Smithsonian Institution exhibition on Cretaceous marine reptiles from Angola. She currently works in Dallas, Tx in a visible fossil prep lab, cleaning the bones of Pachyrhinosaurus while inspiring young women in STEM as an AAAS IF/THEN Ambassador.
