When I started doing the research for Brooke's dress for the Pritzker Ceremony in California Dreamin', I came across this amazing one-shoulder columnar dress by Japanese designer Hachi.* Princess Diana wore it first to the 1983 premiere of Octopussy. I totally borrowed Diana's hairstyle from the same event. They're both classics.
Sadly, the artist didn't recreate the dress exactly. I sent him seven example pics. WTF, dude?!? See for yourself: the original dress.
The background is right, though. That's the real Huntington Library in the background. Again, you can see for yourself: the original location.
I think the artist likes buildings more than dresses.
Ah, well. I guess I can't have everything.
