Same disclaimer as the gender identity video, Cymraeg is always evolving but is missing key terms for certain orientations. This does not mean they will not exist forever, just that word stake time to develop. I will update the description as and when new terms are created ๐

2021-08-06 15:29:48 +0000 UTCIt's come over as an english loan word, before that hoyw meant (& still is used for) queer as well as gay. So the english 'queer' would have been used as the slur - we do have a Cymraeg spelling of f**** though. Ordinarily, rather than happy, queer translates to 'rhyfedd' as in strange, odd, or weird. Historically 'hoyw' and 'deuryw' developed first because wlw relationships weren't demonised or made illegal in the same way as mlm. The language has always been rather restricted
