This also happened often in 80's in Japan and Hong Kong movies but the stars here have been in bigger movies and have more speaking parts.
Here is the movie trailers please take a look! in 1989 the world and effect was very good for Japan and the movie was expensive to make by Toho company. They also made Gojira if you know that name! !
