Amel Super Maramu "Fire Sale" $99,000 (Sistership to Delos)

Ahoy Tribe!  Meet Stephan and Christine Reguliski, who where actually the original owners of Delos.  I bought Delos from them in Bellingham in 2008.  Since then they re-filled their cruising kitty, bought another Amel Super Maramu, and took off for another cruise.

Unfortunately due to a fire while in the marina in Panama their dreams have been paused and they are forced to put her up for sale.  Although the exterior and engine room appear to be in good condition, the inside will require substantial work to make her ship-shape again.  But, if you are looking for an Amel Super Maramu (hull #266) at a fraction of the cost, and willing to put in some hard work she may be just for you!  For more details and images please check out their recent blog post- https://www.bychristinemyers.com/blog/fire   Please contact Christine and Stephan directly via their blog or svhanalei@gmail.com with any questions!

More words from Christine and Stephan:

Thanks to a marina fire, you have the rare opportunity to own the twin of the famed SV DELOS–one of only a few hundred SuperMaramu 2000s manufactured–at a significant discount to market value.

Everything that makes the SuperMaramu 2000 a cult-classic cruiser is still there:

• two full cabins plus two single berths • two electric heads with hot showers • electric in-mast and foresail furling • bow thruster • 80 hp Volvo Penta engine and Onan 220 Genset (each with ~ 5000 hours) • watertight bulkheads between cabins • dual holding tanks • watermaker • feathering propeller • three anchors • PLUS mainsail, genoa, ballooner (along with unique poling system), mizzen and mizzen ballooner • dual holding tanks • setup for AIS and SSB • spare parts, tools, and basic sailing gear.

A disputed insurance claim means it will be years before we have the money to rebuild our beloved boat, if at all. We’ve made the wrenching decision to put SV HANALEI in the care of a new owner, someone with time, money and a cruising dream to fulfill.

I think this would be a great boat for Brady and blue to restore with students. Then when finished the brothers would have sister boats

Unfortunately with the damage I see (and the expected damage I don't see), I think this should be about 1/10th the price. I know that that doesn't help them out with the disputed insurance. Very unfortunate circumstances.

Such a shame. Hopefully insured? We too wish we had the time and ability to help her rise from the ashes. She looks sound, and am sure someone will snap her up.

So sad to hear this story! : - ( I too wish I had the funds to take on the refurb of this Amel Super Maramu. So is she down in Panama? That could be important to a potential buyer.

Heartbreaking. If only I had the time and money to take it on.
