BOAT WORK...You Gotta PAY to PLAY! ....Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 437

I was about to say happy Friday out of habit, but here we are on a Monday ready to spice up the beginning of your week with BOAT WORK!  We haven't really shown a lot of projects lately so we figured we were long overdue for an episode like this.  We tackle some issues with our dive compressor a.k.a. the rust bucket, and luckily I have the help from the greatest, tiniest assistant you can ask for.  It's been really fun to start teaching Sierra a little bit about tools.  While I will love and support any interests that she chooses to follow in life, I must confess that I would be more than a little happy if she were to enjoy working on boat projects with dad in the future πŸ₯°.

And as usual we always manage to mix some business with pleasure, and we continue to enjoy the truly spectacular underwater world that surrounds us here.  We go on a really cool night dive and test out some gear that will allow us to see and record underwater fluorescence (SOOOO COOL!).

Anywho, hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

Sending lots of love from the Tuamotus!

Love these videos with boat projects, they inspire me to take care of my backlog... Okay, there's 15 cm of ice and quite a lot of snow on this part of the Baltic and the boat is well on the dry, but boat dishes are currently in my apartment's dishwasher and the storage bags for the boat's winter shelter bags are currently in my apartment's washing machine :-P Should probably tackle washing and impregnating the spray hood next...

I always enjoy your boat project videos cuz I learn a lot! Sierra is becoming quite the the little helper. What a fabulous life you are giving her!

Great to see Sierra growing up!

Since you have a vacuum pump. Get a smaller tube that will go down the dipstick tube and just suck the oil out of the engine. It will work on everything. Saves on the mess.

I really enjoyed this one. : - ) It's amazing to see Sierra beginning to not be a "baby" anymore. I have this feeling that at age twelve she will sound like she's twenty. I think she's one smart young lady! Then, of course, you had those boat projects. : - )

Hell yeah boat work episode! As a fellow engineer I love seeing the problems you have to solve while cruising

This week’s episode was so nice and chill. Definitely get the vibe of life on your boat. Thanks for making my day!!!

I just finished mine and my boat ran from departure to arrival without breaking down. That actually happened to me last week, first time this season. All that work you are doing is inspiring the world to buck up and keep these boats afloat. I found an interesting article this morning guys. Check the Patreon community posts.

I always watch until the end so I can see Sierra on her bike and hear her say "woohoo". Makes me smile every time.

I worked in the parts department of a VW dealership in the early 1980's. Our best mechanic got tired of installing injectors on the new GTIs that were failing as they rolled off the showroom floor. Half of the replacement injectors were also failing. He built a small, hand operated hydraulic pump that could achieve high enough pressure to test the opening pressure of the injector, the function that was failing. It worked well. The pump looked a little like a grease gun attached to a 2 x 4 base.
