Patron's Only Slow TV!

We actually filmed this on the last day of our passage, but the internet was so slow and we were feeling so squishy and seasick that we just got it uploaded for you! But as we mentioned on our Real Time Update on Thanksgiving, we just sailed from the Tuamotus back to the Marquesas where we will ride out the cyclone season. We wanted to share what the conditions were like, so here's about 2 hours of raw, unedited sailing. Also one of you had the awesome idea on our last slow tv video that we should share the stats in real time too, so we set up a gopro for part of it on the instruments so you can see our speed, wind speed and direction, etc and popped it in the corner for you to see.
We are now getting all settled in here in the Marquesas, catching up on some work, recovering from what turned out to be a pretty exhausting passage, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of the one and only MORMOR! (Sierra literally cannot contain her excitement!!!). We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday vibes, and we will see you tomorrow with our latest episode!

We get a lot of power from our jib, so if we have weather helm we tend to reef the main and keep the mizzen out to balance the jib when the wind cones up, especially upwind. She sails really well like that and its easy on the autopilot.

2023-11-30 20:17:44 +0000 UTCI noticed both the main and the mizzen were reefed, many times i have only seen your main reefed (and mizzen in). Do you find better control in seas with both reefs? do you base it on the angle on the bow? Excited that MorMor gets to have Nugget time! Happy Resting!
