This NEVER Gets Easier 😢 Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 390

Hola beautiful friends, it's Jordan here!

Brian, Kazza, and Sierra are currently en route to Sweden for a visit with family, so I'm posting this week's latest episode for you from sunny Nicaragua 😁

The time has come again for another one of those hard episodes.  This one is incredibly bittersweet for us...There is so much love, laughter, and good vibes in this episode as we welcome friends, family, and of course YOU our lovely Patrons down to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate the completion of Brian's first circumnavigation (which I unfortunately missed because I had COVID). But it's also full of tears and heartbreak as we experience that familiar feeling that every sailor knows so well...the sadness that comes with goodbyes.  It's inevitable in this lifestyle, but that doesn't make it any easier.

In addition to saying farewell to family at the end of their visit, it's also time for me to head off on my next adventure after 4 months and 2,000 miles.  It's been one hell of a ride together with plenty of ups and downs (mostly UPS!) and I will cherish my time onboard forever.  As you will see in the end of this episode, this trip meant much more for me than just a beautiful adventure...it marked a new beginning for me after a pretty crazy and traumatic experience that I was very lucky to survive, and left me wondering if I would ever sail again.  Brian, Kazza, and Delos helped me face my fears and get back out there on the water, and while it wasn't all smooth sailing, and there were definitely some tears and fears along the way, I can say that my time onboard changed my life in such a huge way...not only to rekindle my love and confidence for sailing, but to experiece the feeling again of lightness and easy happiness that I'd been struggling to find since my accident.

I am so incredibly happy and proud to be a part of the Delos Project, and you definitely haven't seen the last of me yet 😁

Sending lots of love to all of you <3

Also that video by Mormor at the end was just perfect <3

Jordan, you're such an authentic person, the way you integrate into the Delos crew and family is nothing short of amazing. I've really enjoyed these episodes with you, your humour, your vibes, your Yahzee with Brian... Fair winds and following seas to you!

Janne Peltonen

So great to see y'all celebrating such a HUGE milestone. DELOS has inspired me to live a life more of adventure. Thanks for the inspiration.

Sam Gardner

As is the case more often then not this video is the best of all. Congrats on the circumnavigation and the celebration. All the former crew included here. Loved that. The good-byes. Make me cry. I may finally sign on to Instagram so I can follow Jorden. I had resisted other social media platforms because of a kind of love-hate thing. Anyway can't wait for more!! Nugs is growing so fast and who will be new crew. The reunion with Brady & Blue. Looking forward to the journey with Delos as it continues!!!

Garry Gill

Such a beautiful episode again! Full of life, love and laughter... Keeping following your adventures from Bangkok, Thailand!

Björn Schoon

Thanks for such an awesome episode you guys (no slight intended Kazza😎)…I so much wanted to be able to come to the celebration but, alas, life intervened and I was unable to go…but now I feel like I’m caught up on the festivities and know now that life also happened for others as well…sorry Jordan, having Covid sucks: that’s what kept me away as well…looking forward as always to the upcoming episodes and my weekly dose of travel, sailing, and catching up with the everyday happenings of my vagabond traveling friends…now go do, that voodoo, that you do, so well! All the best! Be safe!

❤️🏴‍☠️🦜❤️ for Mormor's and Kazzaa's sea shanty at the end. 💯 experience points for SV Delos for bringing a friendly family atmosphere to us. Keep up being the lovely people to each other and sharing that with us. Sitting here on our couches watching you from Austria, your work brings joy to our Sunday of "house projects" coming up ahead.

Leo Sauermann

What a lovely episode! So good to see so many smiling faces from years back and I loved Mormor's sea chanty. What an incredible extended family you have!!💗⛵️

CATHERINE HACKETT

Joined your ‘fan club’ back in the Caribbean, and have enjoyed your contribution to the Delos saga. Best of all wishes to you and look forward to seeing you go forth! 💙

Brian, I wanted to share this with you. I know Brad was your broker when you bought Delos. Maybe you learned of his passing? He was a good friend of my Dad’s. Sharing this first bit of the latest newsletter from Swiftsure Yachts… Sail On, Brad, You Will Be Missed 52 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Swiftsure Yachts co-founder, colleague, sailor and friend, Brad Baker (1964-2022). Brad passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30. He was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer nearly four years ago. Fittingly, his last sail was two days prior to his passing. Brad is survived by his wife P.J., and sons Bryce and Austin, and leaves behind an enduring legacy as a friend and mentor to many. To those who have sailed or raced with him, bought or sold a boat through him, or even just been a casual acquaintance, Brad will be deeply missed throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Thank you for sharing Jordan. You are a most beautiful person, both inside and out. I'm so glad you decided to join the Delos crew for this part of the season, your uplifting spirit and love of Brian, Karin and Sierra was truly evident. I'm looking forward to seeing you blossom after this experience. Oh, and as for Mormor, she is another amazing woman. It's sure nice to see how Sierra (aka The Little Nugget) loves her. Safe travels for all!

We tried cutting her video in to fit in with the other messages but it was too good to not share the entire thing so we decided to save it for the end 😂

Sailing SV Delos

After all these years and everything we've learned and experienced along the way, the goodbyes is the one thing we can never be fully prepared for. But so happy and grateful for the time we do share with our loved ones :)

Sailing SV Delos

Thanks Michael, so glad you enjoyed it, and so happy we can provide you with a little escape from all the gnarly negativity and send some good vibes and love your way 💕

Sailing SV Delos

Mormor the show stopper!

Sailing SV Delos

Covid can't keep us down 😂 so glad you guys were able to make it down, was SUCH a blast! Yeah Jordan was so bummed she missed the party after we'd been planning it for so long!

Sailing SV Delos

Sailing SV Delos

Everything is intensified on a boat, so it's so easy to become so close so fast, and then it's always so heartbreaking to lose a little piece of your family all over again. But it's also so beautiful to have so many deep bonds and relationships to look back on 🥰

Sailing SV Delos

😂

Sailing SV Delos

Yes Mormor absolutely crushed it with her video!!!

Sailing SV Delos

Thanks Alan 💕

Sailing SV Delos

Wow didn’t think I could love Jordan anymore but she definitely is an amazing person. Brought tears to my eyes. Ok, now for some football!

Sean Murray

Agreed, that last bit brought a huge smile to my face.

Clark Robins

Mormor steals the show ! thank you again for sharing...

Brian Travis

Mor-mor is the best! Greetings from NYC!

Chris and Claudia Stothard

Amazing episode. Very emotional. Perfectly produced. Jordan is a legend in SV Delos lore. Best wishes to her in all the she does. Can’t wait to see the next chapter unfurl in the real life tale of adventure on this amazing planet. SV Delos and her crew are truly ambassadors of the world. Such exceptional examples of how dynamic the human spirit can be. Sail on!!!

Kurt Wengart

This episode is bordering on epic! Soo much emotions and beautiful people! Oh Jordan, so sad to see you leave, I will miss you, your beautifull smile and wonderfull persona! May your future allways have fair winds and following seas!!! // Mälarpiraten

Klas Andersson

Jordan, You clearly found that spark, and it shines brightly. Hope to see you out there again!

Jim Bickerstaff

That was awesome what a wonderful episode

Lisa & Claude

A great great episode. Wish we could have been with you all at the party. Looks like everyone had a great time. We love watching your episodes each week. Only wish they were longer. :)

David

Lovely episode. Good luck to Jordan, fantastic crew member. We will all miss her for sure. And so nice to see Lisa again.

Andrew Cousins

So fortunate to be a distant cousin in the Delos family. The love of life, for family, and for every member of the crew is so pure and beautiful. Loved seeing more Mormor. Fun to be able to see Kazza in twenty years. Clearly the apple has not fallen far at all from the tree. I always cry when crew departs. I feel a bit silly, people I've never even met, but the joy I've felt following the Delos voyage is real, and so is the sadness. Love y'all.

Steve Harvey

Love love love 💗

Bobbie Hastings

Wow, what an episode, the ending had me tearing up, goodbyes are so hard.

Stéphane O.

Beautiful episode as always and this one hit you in all the feelings. So much happiness, love, and the sadness of the, "see you soons". I think my favorite thing about Delos is that it's such a contrast to the rest of the world. Turn on the tv and there's so much anger, division, and judgement and when I turn on a Delos episode it's nothing but love, appreciation, and inspiration! Good luck Jordan, can't wait to see what you get in next.

Michael Conway

Another great one for the books. But the end...... Mormor..... That was awesome!!!!!!

William Gross

The PV visit and circumnavigation celebration rank up there in one of the best things we've ever done....even if covid cut our stay short! Made so many new pals, that was the best part of it. Sorry we missed meeting you, Jordan, hope to someday. Looking forward to the watch! Hugs,

Obie and Laurie Alvarez

It always makes me cry when Mormor leaves too ;).

Jsc

I can't imagine how hard it is to see people who have become family leave. But you know, they are never really gone, just hanging out somewhere else for a while! Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Glenn Kimball

I prefer chomping over champing too ;)

Kim & Leo

Hope we will see you again in the future, Jordan. Along with that, this was a great episode. Since there was no Circumnavigation Party video last week I thought maybe you didn't record it. I was very happily wrong! I must say, I also really enjoyed the act that Kazza Moma did at the very end there. Brought a BIG smile to me here! : - )

Scott C. Wise

Nooo......... Thought this would be the one where you leave Jordan, well not leave but a change of direction. Makes it a lot easier knowing you are and will ever be part of the Delos family. Plus your episodes kick arse 😁
