Super interesting! I also almost went crazy doing calculations when thinking about changing my diesel to an electric propulsion unit. Probably not, that hybrid thing is also what I ended up with. Anyways, there's one marine fuel company here now that makes really good bio diesel out of food industry waste oils. My engine seems to love that stuff.

Looking for my next boat this has been one of those questions that keeps coming up .. power vs sails vs electric/hybrid.... I'm afraid I'm too old school and want clean but afraid to let go of that diesel back up redundancies.
