TROUBLE In Paradise 😳 Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 393

Ahoy Friends!

Who else is completely blown away by the fact that it's DECEMBER already?!? The weeks have been flying by for us here in Sweden it's so crazy!  We've been absolutely loving our time here, and we can't wait for Sierra to experience a proper Swedish Christmas with family πŸ₯° We even went out and chopped down our own tree like real land lubbers!

This week's episode pretty much sums up boat life: Highs and lows in beautiful places, broken stuff, and unforgettable magic moments all mixed in between!  We run into some tricky problems with the generator, which we depend on quite a bit these days for things like making water and running the AC for Sierra's afternoon naps when temps hit about 100 degrees inside the boat. After a bit of trouble shooting I was pretty sure I knew what the problem was, but with no access to the replacement parts I had to get a little creative with the solution...I think a lot of you that enjoy the maintenance/repairs/technical stuff will find this one super interesting!

We also do our first night dive in YEARS on the Fang Ming which you saw us dive in last week's episode with the frisky turtle.  Night dives have always been a favorite of ours, but doing it on a wreck is an incredibly rare treat.  Ship wrecks already have such a feeling of mystery and eeriness even during the day time, so when you add in the element of darkness and tunnel vision, it's a seriously amazing experience.

Sending lots of love to you all from Sweden πŸ’•

TROUBLE In Paradise 😳 Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 393

Comments

This was such a great episode, with everything in it! From solving electric problems (yeah that's what I'd've tried too, and maybe checked the oil pressure manually every now and then as long as that bodge was in place, but I bet that's what you guys did) to completely mesmerising and majestic night dive footage to a feeling of serenity at the beach - and a cut to the water filled dinghies :D And to end it all, that gorgeous evening shot of Delos at anchor. Just what the doctor prescribed! Thank you!

Janne Peltonen

Really enjoyed this episode

Matt S

I will forever call them 'Caramel Winds'

Stephen Bates

Didn't you also sail Delos up the Maroni River on the border of Suriname and French Guiana? Or am I imagining that. Anyway, fun episode, night dives are so cool!

David Levine

Ahhh that is so cute!

Mostly motoring but I guess you could loosely say "sail" also the same in Brazil and Borneo we went way up, like 170KM up the Kinabitangan river.

Beautiful footage guys, thanks again! And uber Kudos to Brian for once again demonstrating that knowledge is power (excepting of course, when you park the dinghy wrong . . . :)

Daniel James

BRIAN IS, ONCE AGAIN, THE "BOAT WHISPERER"

FRANCIS DEL VECCHIO

Brian always impresses me. Hope to one day be confident enough to tackle as complex of problems! Great video!

Marcus Murillo

Kazza, you know we love you but please try to not say 'like' so much. I mean it is so like annoying.

Robert Wittenburg

The rocket launch episode.

I have a little 12 week old kitten who I’ve been fostering since she was 3 weeks old (now a foster fail). She comes to my phone to watch your videos when she hears ramukanji start. She sits quietly and watches - seems to love the diving footage the best. Quite amusing to be honest.

Barbara Allin

Didn't you sail up river at Guiana.

Richard Shipp

Another great one!! Night dives...... Not saying they terrify me, but I had to take a xanex after watching yours. Nice patch on the generator. When I did industrial maintenance at McDonnell-Douglas, one of the flight mechanics brought me some odd piece of equipment to fix. I fixed it for him and he said "Bill, I think you can fix anything but a rainy day". Hope I've kept my skills when we head out of here.

William Gross

MacGiver at his best! I am continually in awe of Brian's ability to fix broken stuff. So it's not only you Kazaa! Enjoy your stay in snowy Sweden, hugs from snowy Canada.

Bill Dapp

I for one selfishly like it when something breaks and you have to fix it Brian. This one in particular reminded me of the types of things I have to do working as an electrician at cummins. We routinely have to troubleshoot issues like this on the test cells for the engines. It's always a rush for me when I figure something out and get it fixed. Great episode! Hope y'all have a Merry Christmas in Sweden.

Michael Conway

Awesome episode Man VS Computer and man wins !!!!! Also the dingy had me laughing and I will never tire of seeing Sierra peddling into the table and cheering, EPIC! have a great day in the cold north enjoy the snow, CHeers!

SV Trippin'

Good fix - AGAIN! Brian you are amazing! Appreciate the appreciation Kazza! And thanks for taking us along on your journey! Good to know that even experienced folks make mistakes - it’s called being human. But we often get mad at ourselves all the same. Love you guys!

Shelly Ackerman

Gotta see how you fix the gen. Did you use Gin on the gen? Or maybe just have some after the fix? : - )
