We REALLY Needed This! Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 401
Added 2023-02-10 14:01:01 +0000 UTC
It's been a while since we posted a video like this...No disasters, no storms, no hospital, just pure cruising bliss. We had forgotten what it was like to feel at ease, and man did we need this! And for all you Sierra fans out there, brace yourselves for some cuteness overload in this one 🥰
If you recall from the last episodes when we talked about the hurricane hole that we diverted away from at the last minute to go to San Carlos instead, this is the anchorage. You can see now how protected it is, and while it turns out we made the right call by heading to San Carlos, I think we would have fared pretty well here as well.
In other news, we are just days away from splashing Delos! We're definitely scrambling to finish up all the last bits and pieces, but overall we're pretty happy with all the progress we made. And we are beyond stoked to get back in the water! Editing all these Sea of Cortez episodes has us chomping at the bit to get back out there and do more exploring, plus this time around the temperatures should be a bit more pleasant than the perpetual 100+ degree hot box we experienced on the way up.
We hope you all are having a beautiful Friday wherever you are!
Sending lots of love from all of us in Mexico!

Sierra is a joy to watch! I wonder about those sounds she makes... perhaps seabirds have made an impression on her? So cute beyond words!

Oh, how sweet. Sierra is just like her uncle Brady: passed out on the floor of the v-berth cabin. :)

And we love you too! Loved this one! You DID deserve some peace and quiet to decompress! Sorry about the arduous project Brian, but so good it’s working again! What a pretty spot to do this all in. Sierra is such a character and I love to hear her using more words. She really is a neat kid! And you guys are wonderful parents! Blessing’s to you all! 💝

I'm definitely in the Sierra Fandom. She's an awesome kid. Such a great little personality. There are a number of kiddos among the YouTubers I watch, but Sierra is hands-down my fav. If you think it's appropriate, tell her there are folks among your Patreon supporters who think she's the bees knees 🥰

Oh yeah looks like it could be that. All the cacti and plant life is so cool in the Sea of Cortez, we almost always see something new every time we go to shore!

Thanks David, yeah it was a beast of a project but happy I got it running ship shape again :) With temps in the boat topping over 100 degrees it had become a bit of a necessity for us 😅

Not positive, but I think that "crazy plant" Karin referred to (the one with the long green vertical "branches") is an Ocotillo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fouquieria_splendens

My husband and I have a 28 Catalina and wow Delos’s cockpit is Delish Deliciouso 🤩 ! So much room to lounge and nap ! Our three children - speaking of children , is there a plan for nugget edition 2 ? 😘🥰 - well our children 7, 12, & 15 used to fit on their beds in the 28 and now 8 years later at 15, 20 and 24 , let’s just say we have a blast but it’s pretty funny how cramped we are! Today going to the Seattle ⚓️boat show and I can’t wait to drool over big boats😎

Another wonderful video. Congrats on getting that AC system cleared out. For all the time I have watched the videos, I am surprised this is the first time I have seen you work on that system.

As an amateur astronomer I always enjoy your night sky time lapses. It's fun to freeze them and identify the constellation/s, the location and the approximate date from their position. In today's video, without the bonfire, I'm pretty sure that Andromeda galaxy would have been visible in the shot between 9:22 & 9:25. One of the online planetarium sites I use was created and maintained by John Walker, the creator of AutoCAD. If you are interested, search for "your sky" and his fourmilab site will come up. Choose a city or input your lat/long to get a shjot of the current sky. You can adjust the filters as needed. This should be the site for Cabo San Lucas. https://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/Yoursky?z=1&lat=22.1&ns=North&lon=110&ew=West
