Dune (1984)

Making Frank Herbert’s classic in 1984 is hard. Let’s talk about how difficult it was to make Dune, from discovering that David Lynch was not the next Spielberg or Lucas, to the truncated post production that led to multiple versions of the film.

42:47 I’ve always heard that David Lynch was one of the best directors to work with. Patricia Arquette said she chose to work on « Lost Highway » to work through issues she had with her body and nudity. Roger Ebert had a shit fit about how Isabella Rossellini was humiliated during a nude scene in « Blue Velvet. » He went *on* about it. However, Isabella Rosselini said she was perfectly comfortable during the scene. She said Lynch and Dennis Hopper were very supportive throughout filming. So I guess Roger Ebert forgot he watching a movie? BTW he praised Last Tango in Paris even after behind the scene details came out in 2007.
