Early & Ad Free: We Make MISTAKES…THIS Isn’t One Of Them. Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 454

Happy Friday friends! We're back with a new episode this week! As you've seen over the last months, we had been having a bit of a tough time up here in the Marquesas Islands. It's a really incredible part of the world, but from a cruising perspective and our wants and needs, we struggled a lot with the endless rolling, the heat, difficult beach access for Sierra....but when we saw that there were 2 big red spinning balls on the forecast headed towards the rest of French Polynesia, we knew we had made the right call in coming up here to ride out the cyclone season. And in a stroke of fate, we also wondered if being a bit miserable up here was the catalyst we needed to make the trip to Australia and check out the boat...maybe everything happens for a reason :) We hope you enjoy this week's episode, and we're sending all our love and gratitude to each and every one of you 🫶

Famous Last uttering of the Great and True Captain of Delos: "If we can hold this ..... We should arrive ... somewhere ..... tomorrow". Truer words have not been spoken ... but mysterious words none the less eh? As far as the one that got away ....... (re)read The Old Man and the Sea ....... the story of an old fisher Man and his battle to bring the big fish home. I wish you would incorporate the old starting music? The Tribe misses it ........ I think. Keep 'em flyin

We left the 7 a few weeks ago and have been in SE corner for last week or so. We left this morning for Fakarava!

The anchorages by the SE of Tahuata are well protected. We’ve been there in 20+ before with no problems. Asuming its NE to SE….

My words. Same smile, same wit. I hope we live to see her grow into a great human being🕉️🕉️🕉️

Love it! The drive and the Drone footage reminded me a bit of St Helena.

Thanks for posting and sharing. Glad to know you avoided the cyclone weather and sea conditions.

That’s a hilarious observation that never crossed my mind until you mentioned it… they are like peas in a pod

Ahhh.. *now* it's Friday officially! Cheers guys!

Good morning guys. Question - With the wind forecast at 20+ knots next Thursday - Sunday or longer, do you have a good place to hide? Are you still near "7" and is the barrier high enough if the swell from the SE builds with the wind? I am trying to figure out if I should just hang at Tahuata for a week, or jump down now before the blow and hide somewhere...

So happy but how did you get Ramukanji back, when I asked a while ago, I got the feeling that you thought it wasn't possible?

Awesome Video thanks for sharing and Kaza thanks for the diarrhea reference. ( )o( ) ugh

Yeah, Friday Video👩🏻‍🦰🥰 Sierra cracks me up every time. She reminds me so much of Papa Delos ☮️🕉️☮️🕉️☮️🕉️☮️

Defiantly TUNA the way it dove and stayed down is very typical of a tuna. Sail fish and Mahi tend to come to the surface to fight Cheers! it would have been very late by the time you finished cleaning it then the boat if you had landed the Fish

A Regular episode? YEA! I must say that that "Red Spinning Balls" syndrome can be very painful - I've heard. Chaffing at the top of your "mast" can also be unpleasant. 8 - \ PS - I've felt a little negative about Delos 2.0 being a catamaran. But I've thought a bit about it from a different perspective. Up until 2016 all my sailboats were small day sailers. They were lots of fun and required some physical effort to sail. Hiking out was great and really worked those abs and leg muscles! But then I got my 20' Paceship P2-20 which included a very nice cabin that can sleep FOUR people! No more hiking out and no more turning turtle. A big change as far as sailing goes. SV Delos changing from a mono hull to a catamaran is also a big change. But how different is that from my change from small day sailers to a pocket yacht? Yes, I would like it more if SV Delos 2.0 was going to be a mono hull (like Distant Shores new boat - which is about to splash!) but change is sometimes something that just happens. : - )

Yes yes yes 🤩
