We did it!!!!

Another successful Delos haul out is in the books! We still have more time while Delos is on the hard to finish our last preparations, but we are getting SO CLOSE to starting this next chapter! It's such a bittersweet time for us...so many super exciting things to look forward to, but always sad to leave Delos for any extended period of time. She is our home, and even if we are always on the move, she's been the one constant in our lives (well besides each other of course!) throughout all these years galavanting around the globe. But absence makes the heart grow fonder, and every time we take a little break from the boat we always come back more charged up and ready for adventure than ever!

Wishing everyone an amazing weekend and sending lots of love to all of you!

Kazza, Brian, & Sierra 💕

Any plans to hook up with Ran sailing and check out his build?

How is the new place in Aus?

Tim Heslip

With your story behind delos is also perfect for a museum 😊

Mattias Persson

Hold Sierra close as this move will be her biggest I hope your temporary home will give her her own room and a chance to make friends. As they will not be babies of the sea she will be introduced to land lubbers and have no awareness of her unique life.🦋 JerryU

Prayers for your safety and for your sustenance going forward! Fair winds and following seas!

Hey Emily! We had lot's of help so everything went pretty smooth :). Well the trailer had a weight limit of 20 tons, so we must have been under that. I would guess in total we removed about 2.5 tons from the boat so we were probably in the 21 range, and 18 to 19 when we hauled out would be my guess. We celebrated with a fantastic dinner at a place called Fish N Blue. it was cool because the next table over were sailors and had watched our videos so they sneakily bought our dinner which was just such a nice end to our experience that day. Truly amazing and heart warming the generosity of others :)

Hey Bob- it will take probably around 10,000 hours of labor. Right now we have a team of 3 working and if we can sustain that plus adding Kazza and myself when we put in our labor we're guessing somewhere between 2-3 years. Our plan is to return back to Delos and sail her westward next season from French Polynesia. We may take a year or two to make it to Australia, and arrive in Aussie waters just in time to finish Kazza's circumnavigation and to finish the last stages of the build. Then hopefully we can raft the two boats up and move our stuff over :). When the time comes we will turn Delos over to someone that wants to sail her like she was built for!

Sailing SV Delos

Hey Kay! Hope you are doing well! We were just talking to Warren and Erica about meeting you in Tahiti :) Our plan is to come back after about 9 months when the next season begins. We'll sail her from French Polynesia across the rest of the Pacific to Australia so Kazza can finish her circumnavigation too, then we'll finish the boat, raft them up, and move aboard. Still a few more years before we'll need to sell her....

Sailing SV Delos

Oh yeah, we'll be back to sail her from French Polynesia to Australia next season. We still want to get her to Australia again so Kazza can finish her circumnavigation as well :)

Thanks so much for your support Myra. Sending lot's of love and hugs your way!

Rules to live by!

The time is speeding up like a time-ramp in Premiere Pro :)

Yes, my thoughts exactyl!

Sailing SV Delos

Hey Jerry and Kelly, We'll be in Australia for 3 months, then Sweden to visit family, then back to Australia for another 3 months. So we should be away for 9 months in total. Then we'll continue sailing Delos westward from French Polynesia when we return. Sending lot's of hugs!

Thanks Thomas, appreciate it!

Curious minds want to know what was the final weight at haulout!?! Hope many hands make light work for you during this time, wishing I could help but knowing my keyboard warrior status (Patreon!) will have to suffice for now. Cheers to finding your favorite kid friendly beer and burger joint!

Emily

We are all dieing to know.... - How long do you anticipate the new boat build taking? Seems like a project of this size will likely take 1-2 years before launch. - Will you be returning to Delos and continue sailing during the build process? - What's the plan for Delos 1.0?

Bob Caverly

Delos is more then a boat and home. She has become the essence of it all. She was/is the core for so many things 🕉️🕉️🕉️ You have taken care of her the same way as one takes care of a loved one. In my world all Things have a Soul, so does she 🌏🌏🌏

Jeanne H. Mathieu

What are the plans for Delos? Will you selling her ? Will you sail her to Australia ?

Kay Tennant

It's kinda sad to see her sitting high and dry! : - ( Are you ever going to sail her again? Or is that going to be the cat?

Scott C. Wise

I’m stoked for this new chapter in your journey with us. I still remember finding your videos and binge watching until I caught up and then your marriage and Sierra and Covid and now Delos 2.0. Yay you! Onward !!!!!

Myra Slepoy

Rule #1: Always remember those that love you are those who truly care about you! Your extended family gives back what they have received! Rule #2: As you continue onwards in your adventures, refer often to Rule #1...

Seems like flying by
