Weekly Updates: Christmas wind down!
Added 2017-12-18 14:12:07 +0000 UTCHello everybody! Gosh look at those numbers.
I'm very happy to report that as some of you have seen, Patreon have walked back their fees update. Sadly there's no way to reach my supporters who understandable walked out over it, but a few of you have found your way back and even more new supporters have signed up since my Ludum Dare stream.
Last week I finished the nine slice tutorial + source code. (Video public this Friday, early access for $5 Patrons here) I really like the model I've adopted with these things, charging extra for source code is something I once literally said I never wanted to do. But I think offering the choice of watching a free instructional video or dropping a couple of dollars for a quick, complete fix is pretty good, and the extra little bit of income doesn't hurt either! Those people get what they need and also help fund more free videos for everybody. At the same time I get to make being a patron here all the more attractive as you get free + early access.
This Week:
I'm winding down for Christmas now. I've got some meta stuff to update with the channel, itch.io, maybe here on Patreon, etc. I'm not going to have time to put together a tutorial this week, and next week is my "official" Christmas week off. (I more or less time my holidays just to match my partner's so we get to spend more time together.)
So we're looking at January 5th for my next tutorial video which will probably continue the platformer series. During that week I'll likely run another poll to decide what the following video should be.
I'll still be doing stuff over this period, just not tutorial video releases. There may still be a video of some kind, there may also not be. Lots to get done! I'll likely still do a weekly update at the beginning of next week if only to recap what I've done this week.
Thank you all for an awesome year and for supporting my work.
On to 2018!
