Week 48 - Combo breaker
Added 2018-12-03 16:27:48 +0000 UTCThe topic of "Isometic Games" won the topic poll by a single vote! So that's what we'll be covering next.
The video is going to be based on what made FIREBALL work. What isometric means, what it means for your game and how to convert coordinates properly.
This last weekend was actually Ludum Dare 43 and I sadly missed it. Ending a 13 long streak of Ludum Dare's in a row. I'd made all kinds of plans without realising and it just wasn't worth backing out of all of them to make yet another jam game. I might still do a livestream to play other LD games this week though!
Hopefully I'll be back for the next one, I'm a little sad to have broken the streak but at the same time, also kind of glad I did. Now the 'pressure' feels somewhat lifted!
In case you missed it, last week I publicly released the Ghost Recording video and also released a fancy new PokeyPoke water effects devlog/explanation for $5 patrons.
Had some good momentum on PokeyPoke as of late, I'm hopeful for a 2019 release!
In other news, I've agreed to take part in a secret-project that will consume exactly 6 hours of my time, probably this week. I sadly can't say much more than that, but I can promise it will take 6 hours. No more and no less. Very mysterious, yes? All will become clear soOooOon.
Because of that and wanting to stream and do a few other things this week I wouldn't be surprised if this next video doesn't release on Friday, but it shouldn't be too long of a project*.
Cheers everybody!

The melee attack tutorial I made recently would work just as well in the air :)
