Hello everyone!
Hopefully some of you managed to catch my live streams last week where we were putting some of the last touches on the ARPG codebase. I've decided to finish up two more features this week and then simply get started on scripting and producing the first episode.
This skips out some steps I had originally wanted to complete prior, but that just aren't necessary for me to get started and I'm still committed to getting this thing started by the end of the year.
My current intention is to release the first video to $5+ Patrons one week ahead of its release on YouTube. The series will be accompanied by a free "demo" of the final game that people can get to see what they'll be making. This demo will get some updates as we go along, as not every feature I want to be in the final tutorial will be finished by the time of the first episode.
It will also be accompanied by a source code library on itch.io similar to that of the complete platformer series. Where you can access the source code of each individual episode as they release. Eventually when the series is complete, the final source code will be available here. $5+ supporters will have access, and non-supporters will be able to purchase access for some other amount. I'm currently considering $10.
All of my $20 supporters will also maintain access to the final project source code ahead of time, in the same place that they can currently access the in-progress build.
I will also, as thanks, make this available to *all supporters* with lifetime support that equals or exceeds $20 at the time of the first video releasing.
This includes $5 supporters who've been here for 4 months or more, etc. There's quite a lot of you who've supported me through a time of low video output while giving me the space to work on this larger project. I don't have many ways to reward you that comes close to matching the support and faith you've had in my work but I felt that I should at least do this.
No promises to make on when exactly the first video will release. It's very important I get the first episode right, as it will be the one that is viewed most. But I'm glad to finally start work on it.
