January WIP + First Postcard Delivery!

First Order of Business: A Work in Progress!

A lovely lady is checking her lover’s pocketwatch, counting the hours until the return of Spring. Any guesses as to who these classical figures might be? ;D

Behold — a first glance at January’s postcard in progress, which will be received by all members of the Crow Collector and Raven Dandy tiers! If you are a Jolly Jackdaw who would like to receive this postcard, I invite you to change your tier level to Crow Collector or Raven Dandy by December 31st!

Second Item on the Docket:

On Monday evening, the first delivery of postcards was sent off into the world! Depending on how far you are from the American Midwest, you can expect to receive your package shortly, or longly! I hope you all receive them in a timely manner and enjoy your cards!

Members receiving cards have already paid for their December subscription and added their address to their MBPS membership. If you are missing one of these things, there is no letter on its way to you yet. :( But there is still time for you to remedy this! Contact me!

And Finally:

What should you DO once you receive your postcards?!

Hoard them?

Most of you are here because you enjoy my artwork and want to support its creation! I am immeasurably grateful for that, and every one of you is enabling me to continue making art for you. Thank you! So if you’d like to simply collect your cards as lovely mini-prints, I completely encourage you to do so! In fact, I am in the very early stages of devising some kind of book or album available for members to receive in which you can organize your cards as you collect them.

Send them to friends and family?

Many of you are here because receiving letters in the mail is a delight! I’m sure that the people that you love would agree, if they received a lovingly written card from you!

Send them... to me?!

There is nothing that would delight me more than to receive cards or letters from you, telling me about yourselves. I can’t promise I will have the time to respond to them all, but I will do my best! I’d love to hear things like: Who you are, what your interests are, what it’s like where you live, and — my favorite thing to learn about people — what is your favorite folk or fairy tale? (Or legend or myth, if märchen aren’t your bag!) If I don’t know it, I’ll be delighted to look it up — or for you to tell it to me!

Send them... to each other!!!

If you are interested in being able to correspond with other members of the MBPS, I am eager to help facilitate that. I have created a google form where you can submit non-personal information about yourself — things like your name/nickname, your social media handles, and your hobbies — which will be compiled into a roster document to be shared just with other members who have filled out the form. You will be given permissions to view that roster, enabling you to reach out to follow members who have opted in and arrange to correspond with each other!

What should you send?

Anything you like! They do NOT have to be limited to postcards that I have distributed it to you. Send cards from other artists you support, or that you picked up in a corner shop, or that you drew yourself. Write letters on paper instead, attach stickers, show off your beautiful calligraphy or use a lot of colored pencils. Exchange trinkets. (I once received a thank you card that included a 2 of clubs, an ace of hearts, and a picture of a panda. I was confused and delighted.) Within the bounds of propriety, send anything your heart can imagine. I am working on a sticker set that will allow you to officially mark MBPS correspondence in the future outside of the postcards I distribute!

That’s all a lot of information! I will be making a follow-up post later this week that reiterates this information, especially about the roster enabling you all to choose to correspond with one another.

For now, enjoy your cards when they arrive!

— Your Society President, Fearless Leader, and Loquacious Rambler, Marlowe Lune
