Good afternoon, Blackbirds!
After a long wait and many teases, here we have it: December’s Postcard of the Month. In the end, I‘ve titled it “How We Spent the Winter Nights”, and it depicts a writer and her butch or transmasc lover. Definitely among the most time-intensive pieces that I’ve ever made, and worth every single one of the 209 book spines I illustrated in it.
This postcard marks the beginning of the Merry Blackbird Postcard Society’s third year. Isn’t that wild?! It’s a privilege to make artwork for you for a third trip around the sun. December is now the first month to have three MBPS cards!
Coming up, I’ll be showing off the gold foil postcard that will be accompanying it in Raven Dandy deliveries!
And I’ll also be revealing a special surprise I’ve been working on to celebrate the MBPS’s second anniversary at the end of this month! I’ve just gotten photo proofs back of this handsome little trinket, and I can’t wait to show it to you.
