The VW5 featured a lightweight spaceframe chassis, disc brakes on all four wheels, and a five-speed manual transmission. With a top speed approaching 174 mph it was both fast and reliable. In 1958, Vanwall made history by winning the inaugural Formula One Constructors' Championship, claiming six Grand Prix victories with legendary drivers like Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks. Featuring animated gauges, driver, and leafspring suspension. Our VW5 includes eight historically accurate liveries from across the 1958 season, along with seven fictional liveries, for a total of fifteen unique paint schemes to choose from! This car relies upon Custom Shaders Patch's extended physics, featuring a physical tire model (as opposed to a single contact point), RainFX support, fully simulated brake temps & fade, engine & transmission damage simulation, and dozens of other advanced improvements over the default AC physics engine.
