Is the spider in Sokka's mouth the most horrifying thing in all of ATLA? Is it bad that we are 1000% down with Zuko crime-ing? And this is when Iroh's wisdom starts to get really real for us!? I think it is!

I think we get excited and mispronunce it, then it becomes like a feedback loop where we just heard it and then repeat it. Iroh and Appa are the ones we kinda struggle with but the love for the show is still there. Thanks.

I wouldn’t normally be that guy, but it just so happens that the latter pronunciation is the same as it was said in the live action movie that totally did not happen so I won’t bother elaborating any further.

I think it is interesting that Aang seems to agree that he should be tried for crimes committed by his past lives, which opens a really interesting discussion, but the show kind of glosses over the whole conflict. Makes me wish it could lean a bit more into Star Trek sometimes like it did with the North Air Temple episode

2020-10-19 15:55:53 +0000 UTCOh i thought this was blind bandit already, can't believe i forgot about the best showcase of avatar kyoshi (by the way guys, after you guys go through this and korra, the series creators have co-written a book series about the life of avatar kyoshi. It's a GREAT read, much more severe and deeper in its themes and tone, and also available on amazon! I think it's a general agreement amongst the fanbase that Kyoshi is one of the coolest avatars of all)

I don't know if anyone has mentioned to you guys, but Kyoshi has 2 canon novels out now that cover her entire backstory. The second one just came out a couple months ago!

2020-10-19 00:22:50 +0000 UTCI couldn’t believe it when at the end of the last episode you all said Zuko should start criming! I couldn’t wait until you saw that your prediction actually happened. BTW, the mask for the Blue Spirit is apparently a common item in that world. In the last episode, when Iroh and Zuko were sitting there begging, a cart pushed past them with masks hanging on the side of it. The Blue Spirit mask was among them. So it doesn’t seem like it would be a dead giveaway for Zuko if someone saw him using it to rob people, who knew about that previously incident. It’s one of those blink and you miss it moments as the cart rolled by. Can’t wait for your reaction to the next four episodes. They are all iconic. And based on what you said at the end of this one you’ve already seen the next one, at the very least. Can’t wait to see what you have to say about it.

2020-10-18 23:21:23 +0000 UTCGreat reaction but dang I miss the old vimeo links, dropbox was buffering like crazy and I could not watch it in 1080p let alone 720p, and 480p was super laggy for me, I couldn't even d/l the episode and I'm on Verizon FiOS! :( I think one of the reasons people are sensitive about the mispronunciation of names is because in M. Night Shyamalan's HORRIBLE live-action adaption "The Last Airbender" they mispronounced 90% of the names and they pronounced Iroh in the movie the way you guys said it (eee-row) instead of 'eye-row' like in the cartoon. That movie was an absolute disgrace to this beloved franchise so anything that strays from the original just triggers everyone
